To feed the cat over the road so i wont shit in my garden?

The gardner complained last week that he had to pick up cat poo from my garden.

He made it very clear that he doesnt like doing it and wont do it again.

I know exactly which cat it is as i ve seen it sniffing round my garden a number of times.

If i was to feed the cat, would it then not poo in the garden as they dont poo on their own territory?

If you are shitting in your garden, the cat's not the problem.

coffeeinbed · 05/05/2014 18:39

Surely if you feed it it will shit even more?

PigletJohn · 05/05/2014 18:41

You would probably have to feed it in your garden, give it a cushion to sit on, and play with it there.

FrancesNiadova · 05/05/2014 18:41

Who sh*ts in your garden: the cat; your gardener, or yourself?

Sorry OP Blush

LingDiLong · 05/05/2014 18:41

it certainly hasn't stopped my cat from shitting in my garden. not that I'm complaining, I'd rather she did it in my garden than someone else's. Whilst it is an unpleasant job I'm surprised the gardener has refused to do it. picking up fox or cat poo surely goes with the gardening territory?

Please don't. De-poop your garden before the gardener gets there or start shooing the cat away, but don't feed an animal that isn't yours.

WanderingOakensHoohoo · 05/05/2014 18:43

Might it not be sniffing in your garden because another cat has been shitting there? I wouldn't feed it, personally.

TheNewSofa · 05/05/2014 18:43

Ling

Im surprised your cat poos in your garden, i thought they never poo on their own territory?

Ours cats have always crapped in our garden. Think it's a bit of a myth they don't crap on home ground.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 05/05/2014 18:46

Put down some silent roar, that'll stop it shitting in the garden

thebodylovesspring · 05/05/2014 18:49

Ah a cat poo thread. About time too although personally I prefer traumatised toddlers than stroppy gardeners. Grin

WitchWay · 05/05/2014 18:58

They bury poos usually - the big obvious on-top-of-the-lawn ones are territory markers - clearly it thinks your garden is part of its territory, like the nutter cat next door does with ours even though we have our own cats Angry

Joysmum · 05/05/2014 18:58

Our cats have always crapped in our garden and our neighbours told to get the hose out on them if they don't want them in there.

My gardener has a special car friendly area set up with cat attracting fresh chippings that changed frequently.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 05/05/2014 19:00

My cat craps in our garden. I could claim I had trained him, but it would be a lie.

I have no idea if he does extra shits elsewhere.

JonesRipley · 05/05/2014 19:01

My cat hasn't read that advice, so she now has a litter tray. Nor does she stop others crapping in our garden ( cats, not people )

matildasquared · 05/05/2014 19:01

The gardener won't pick up cat poo? Is she pregnant?

Cat poo is part of gardening as far as I'm concerned. That's why I wear gloves.

curiousuze · 05/05/2014 19:02

Our cat always crapped in our kitchen our garden. I thought they always crapped in their own territory so other cats would stay away?

God I fucking hate cat shit. That wonderful moment when you dig your hands into the soil to plant a new rose bush, and something goes squish between your fingers...

BadRoly · 05/05/2014 19:03

My cats definitely poo in my garden, as well as their litter tray and probably a selection of neighbouring gardens. Do I don't think feeding the cat over the road will solve your problems with the gardener!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 05/05/2014 19:05

The cats around my way (believe me, there's loads) never crap in my garden.

Not sure what the secret is.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/05/2014 19:09

Cats poo at the edge of their territory, next door get a double dose because mine and the bsh think its the edge of their territory.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 05/05/2014 19:11

Ours both poo in our garden as well as their litter trays, hopefully not in anyone else's, luckily they don't bury it so it's easy to see and remove, there is nothing worse than getting it in your fingers when gardening.

Citrus peel and twiggy cuttings used to work for me pre-ownership when I wanted my neighbours cats to stop doing it.

TheNewSofa · 05/05/2014 19:13

Its in the middle of the garden, not buried or anything

Can see it clear as day

I, alone, feed my cat and he shits in my (his own) garden.
