To think Mumsnetters are actually quite lovely actually?

I'm relatively new to this site but can honestly say that whenever I have posted a problem I only ever get lovely supportive replies. I only wish that I had found you when I was TTC and pregnant as I might actually have had more of a clue about how babies actually behave rather than what the books tell me I should be doing (I'm looking at you Gina Ford!!)

I've also followed threads where the poster is quite obviously struggling and the support they get is overwhelming.

And if people post about first world problems like babies eating Greggs and 5 months old being sexualised by console cables they are quite rightfully told to get a grip.

That is all!

who is GF?

widdle · 28/04/2014 17:05

Really AlpacaLypse? That's hilarious!

In my head she looks like Cruella D'Ville

YANBU.

Some posters have rather strident views, but even most of them have given many people support, where they need it. The ones who haven't are just bloody entertaining, sometimes.

Dawn Shock

Actually, I might be inspired to rename my house, then my address can be Yve, Bellend, Oop North.

ouryve · 28/04/2014 17:09

She wrote some baby manuals, Zing. Name a bit like a car.

YouTheCat · 28/04/2014 17:10

Zing she writes useful advice such as "Gently unswaddle baby and let her wake up naturally"...

OK then - gently unswaddles DS - cue 30 minutes of non-stop shrieking... looks at book again scratching head....

This past few weeks I would have been totally lost without the support of some mners. This place is keeping me sane!

Some of you are bloody hilarious too Grin

Raxacoricofallapatorius · 28/04/2014 17:15

When I was young and stupid, I used to say silly things like I preferred male company because men were straightforward and I didn't have anything in common with women. I'm ashamed of that looking back. I just wasn't very confident and struggled to make friends. MN taught me that actually women are not some homogeneous mass. And largely, the women on here have shown me that they are strong and feisty and witty and brilliant and endlessly supportive and bloody determined and I am proud of them and proud to be one of them.

Except the wazzocks. They're just wazzocks.

thebodydoestricks · 28/04/2014 17:18

dawn what was that about? Not the abortion thread surely?

Anyway I think mumsnetters are awesome.

Even the ones who I think are as mad as frogs post what they think and that's fine.

Very very few are consistently nasty and vindictive for the sake of it.

ChubbyKitty · 28/04/2014 17:24

Yabu I'm a total arsebadger.

I kid. I'm a delight Smile

And also most posters have been very gentle with me when I've needed it and given me a bit of a kick up the arse when, looking back, I really needed it!

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 28/04/2014 17:24

YANBU! Most MNers are lovely, kind and very funny. In fact, I'm pretty sure it is MN's fault I get through so many keyboards - you keep making me laugh and spray tea everywhere Grin

PacificDogwood · 28/04/2014 17:26

MN and MNers are great.
YANBU of course and quite lovely as you are one of 'us' Grin

I am ignoring the other thread - I am sure they are devastated by my glaring absence

MrsBungle · 28/04/2014 17:27

Yanbu. Must of them are amazing - they just tell it how it is which I find refreshing.

ZingWatermelon · 28/04/2014 17:28

oh I know.

first name same as Lollobrigida

thanks for clues

ZingWatermelon · 28/04/2014 17:29

Pacific

I'm fake reporting everyone on the other thread coz I'm bored.
do turn up.
I'm itching to report you as well!Grin

PacificDogwood · 28/04/2014 17:32

Ha! In your current state I could report you twice, Zing Grin

I might pop in later but have to do dinner/sports activity/bed time first

I blood love the fact that this is a 'tell it how it is' site - it's what sent me backing out slowly from NM and Bounty until I found me spiritual home here Grin

DoctorTwo · 28/04/2014 17:42

YABU! We are all bjullying bjitches.*

*That might just be a lie.

magimedi · 28/04/2014 18:03

YANBU

I luffs Mumsnet and most of the MNetters that lurk within.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 28/04/2014 18:22

magi don't be sad Wine

I'm not stalking you, promise!

Fenton · 28/04/2014 18:33

YANBU

I was once voted Mumsnet's nicest poster.

Okay I'm lying, but I am quite nice most of the time. I have been know to let the odd snippy comment slip but I'm sure it was deserved.

There are some truly wonderfully warm and kind people here
