Circumcision: A Social Status in the UK ?

Amazonia · 25/04/2014 09:06

Curiously in the UK, circumcision is now a matter of social class. While the "ordinary" folks rarely circumcise, circumcision is prevalent in the upper class as well as in the Royal family.

Icimoi, you can keep on trying to tell my I said something I patently did not. The only person who ends up looking foolish is you. You have a right to make yourself look foolish of course.

For my part, I will continue to ask what PigletJohn thinks he is contributing to this thread by his continued malicious fictionalising of other people's posts.

It is a style of posting that is appropriate for residents of the baboon house.

Perhaps you also think baboon house-style shite-flinging is appropriate for MN?

mathanxiety · 12/05/2014 23:14

Nobody has said anything about 'monkey-throwing', PigletJohn.
For your information, and on the record, I spoke of shite-throwing monkeys, namely baboons.

This sort of misrepresentation is how you get started on outright malicious perversion of other people's posts.

It starts small, perhaps with with careless reading (though that may be too charitable on my part), and a word or two attributed to another just to suit one's argument, and it builds up to full blown malicious fictionalising.

Which is not an acceptable style of posting here on MN.

mathanxiety · 12/05/2014 23:17

You have indeed stated that I have lied, and you have done so more than once.

I don't know why you would do something like that.

Is this some sort of stalking behaviour?

PigletJohn · 12/05/2014 23:18

math, take your medication and go to bed.

LittleBearPad · 12/05/2014 23:18

You're being absurd now Math.

For someone who says Piglet has been repetitive you are unnecessarily obsessed with baboons and their behaviours.

Icimoi · 12/05/2014 23:25

Mathanxiety, yet again, we can all see for ourselves that there is only one person perverting other people's posts, and it is not PigletJohn. I note you still don't care to address the exact quote of your words and his contained in his post of 22.56.18. If you want to retain a shred of credibility, I suggest you do so, rather than hurling personal abuse.

I have to admit to being bemused and a bit troubled about what is going on with you. We seem to have strayed well away from what this thread is about whilst you pursue this utterly weird personal vendetta based on assertions that are demonstrably false.

mathanxiety · 12/05/2014 23:39

LittleBear, I think PigletJohn agrees that he is being repetitive:
'As you know full well, I have, for the second time in this thread, pointed out that you have lied.'

He even bolded the word 'second', presumably to emphasise how repetitive he is being.

And he knows I know he has accused me of lying, so why bother saying it again?

Although it is sometimes hard to be really sure what exactly PigletJohn says since he uses a private version of the English language.

As seen in the posts of PigletJohn here, that particular MO has major limitations when engaging in discussions with others. It comes across as a style similar to shite- throwing on the part of baboons, which is all very well and mighty fine if you happen to be a baboon in a baboon house of course, but not on MN.

mathanxiety · 12/05/2014 23:41

Exactly what do you mean by the word 'retain' there, Icimoi.

Do you mean 'fill up with a shred of credibility'?

I guarantee PigletJohn thinks that is what you meant.

mathanxiety · 12/05/2014 23:44

Exactly what do you mean by the word 'retain' there, Icimoi?

Sorry, I forgot the question mark.

Be careful though, when you use the word 'retain'.
It means 'fill up with'.

mathanxiety · 12/05/2014 23:47

Sincere question by the way, and that is why I added the question mark, just to make sure you know it is a question for you.

I would love to hear your answer.

But as noted, it's a tricky word.

mathanxiety · 12/05/2014 23:48

So take as much time as you want.

LittleBearPad · 12/05/2014 23:49

Stop Math just stop. You're making a fool of yourself.

Icimoi · 12/05/2014 23:49

"Retain" when used in relation to a fluid does indeed mean "fill up with".

HTH.

mathanxiety · 13/05/2014 00:51

Is this the same LittleBear who stated that PigletJohn's malicious perversion of my post about retention of stale urine on a penis after urinating, during the 24 hour long interval between showers or baths, was a 'joke'?

'PigletJohn Mon 05-May-14 20:41:49
has math explained yet what, in her opinion, is the difference between an unwashed unmodified man who she say smells of stale urine, smegma, and sweat; and an unwashed, unmodified woman who smells of stale urine, smegma and sweat?'

Note: no mention of a foreskin filled with urine, balloon-wise.

I think the exact meaning of what I said was clear to PigletJohn himself before he decided to maliciously pervert my post and indulge in the shite-throwing he clearly finds so amusing that he repeats it in every post.

HTH you too.

Icimoi · 13/05/2014 01:07

The degree of irrationality and repetitious offensiveness you are now displaying, math, is making this thread quite worrying. Looking at the random way you are slinging accusations and obsessing about something that has virtually nothing to do with the thread, the most charitable explanation is that you are tired and should follow LittleBear's advice at 23.49.39 and PigletJohn's at 23.18.33. In any event it is clear that you have no intention of having a reasoned discussion or engaging with any facts that you find inconvenient. I suspect that that the thread may disappear soon anyway.

LittleBearPad · 13/05/2014 01:39

Yep that's me and it was a joke and you need to take a chill pill and stop banging on about urine and baboons. You're sounding quite obsessive.

mathanxiety · 13/05/2014 01:46

Irrationality? Repetitive offensiveness?

You surely mean PigletJohn there.

As an example of irrationality and repetitive offensiveness I offer you the post where he states he has twice accusing me of lying on this thread.
What could be more repetitious or more irrationally offensive than accusing someone of lying not once but twice, and then making sure everyone took appropriate note of the fact?

He even bolded the word 'second' to illustrate how engaged he is in the business of shite-throwing.

How he imagines any of this is appropriate on a forum where civil interaction is expected of contributors is beyond me.

Another example of repetitiveness would be your own repetition of the advice of LittleBear at 23.49.39 and PigletJohn at 23.18.33. Bit of an irony detection fail there.

LittleBearPad · 13/05/2014 02:04

No I mean you.

mathanxiety · 13/05/2014 03:51

Well that is most irrational and inexplicable.

Sallyingforth · 13/05/2014 09:08

I'll make a last visit to this thread before it reaches the limit or is closed by HQ.

All this name-calling and you-said-i-said is only fit for the playground.

math you circumcise your boys for religious reasons as do millions of others. That's understandable, and to anyone of that faith it's sufficient in itself. Others may disagree with that motive, but we can see very clearly why you do it and so you do not have to explain further.

All this obfuscation about penile cancer, when the official figures show that the cancer rate is lower in countries with the lowest circumcision rate, just muddies the issue.

And comments about dirty penises do not help your case either.

Put together, these distractions make it look as if your primary reason for cutting babies is not enough even for you, and that you are trying desperately to find further excuses.

Why not just stick to the religious reason and stand by it? I think you would find more respect here for your personal position.

Another person accusing me of lying?
Anyone else care to pile in?

It's most uncivil to accuse people of lying, losing one's grip, etc.

And of course unjustified, because it is very clear that PigletJohn accepted the very obvious meaning of my post initially but later decided to maliciously misrepresent what I said, for purposes of his own that I have described here.

mathanxiety · 13/05/2014 16:20

And Sallyingforth, as you may have noticed before the offensive posts were deleted, it is in fact not acceptable here on this thread to perform circumcision for religious reasons or to have the circumcision performed by a Rabbi. Nor is it acceptable to publish articles on circumcision if you have a 'Jewish name'.

CoteDAzur · 13/05/2014 16:24

"All this obfuscation about penile cancer, when the official figures show that the cancer rate is lower in countries with the lowest circumcision rate, just muddies the issue"

What? Hmm

Do you know where penile cancer is lowest in the world?

Israel.

Do you know what pretty much everyone with a penis in Israel has had done, whether Jewish or Palestinian?

Yes, that's right.

CoteDAzur · 13/05/2014 16:27

I can't be bothered to find out who has been mean to whom on the thread, and don't quite care if people circumcise for religious reasons.

The fact which I hope nobody on this thread is going to make me bang on about (yet again) is that circumcision has proven benefits.

Whether you care about those benefits enough to circumcise your child is up to you, naturally.
