DP is going on a stag do this weekend.
He doesn't go out too often as he works a lot, so when he does get the opportunity (like this weekend) he will enjoy a few too many drinks and be horribly hungover the following day

I was thinking of putting a hangover kit in his suitcase, paracetomol and ibuprofen are first on the list!
But I don't drink so not really sure what else to put in there

Any tips welcome!

Best thing that works for me is 1 or 2 bottles of lucozade sport (or another brand) it sorts out the dehydration. Coupled with a couple of painkillers, it's a winner.

Sorry, was just answering your title question of 'what's your best hangover cure?' and didn't realise you meant what could you pack as well!
Pints of water and a sausage butty might get a bit messy not to mention stinky Grin but it's definitely the best cure may or may not have had plenty of practise in the past of getting over hangovers, oops
In that case pack:

  • full fat can of coke (not diet)
  • huge monster sized pack of pickled onion Monster Munch

Great thread, my DH also going on a stag week-end, not this week-end but Bank Holiday week-end. I absolutely loathe hangovers, so much so that I only ever drink three drinks in an evening at the very most. But DH is made of sterner stuff so reading with interest. He claims sex really helps. Such a shame I won't be there to relieve him in his whiskey hangover.

I think loads of water is the key, and Dioralyte a good plan. Doctors put themselves on a drip sometimes when they are hungover, I gather. And sleep!! I hate that special brand of hangover tiredness. Yuck. Just makes me feel sick thinking about it. Have not had hangover in a year now, never again.

Milk thistle tablets, liv 52 tablets (he should start taking both of these a few days before he goes), an eye mask he can put in the fridge/minibar-may look a bit girly but works wonders, Pom bears-the saltiness is amazing to a hangover without being too heavy and M&S Florida orange

Banana mill! Works every time! Chocolate milk is a decent substitute!

My cure is two nurofen plus and pint of water before bed, shower and fry up first thing... Followed by banana milk, maltesers, couch, film, duvet Smile

Salt and vinegar crisps, Irn Bu, Nurofen.

gingerbread latte

Yes yes to Coconut Water - I buy two if I'm drinking: one to drink before going to bed / throughout the night, the other for the morning after. That, plus Dioralyte, two paracetamol before bed plus two nurophen on waking with strong sweet tea and cheese & marmite on toast and I can face doing it all again!
