DP is going on a stag do this weekend.
He doesn't go out too often as he works a lot, so when he does get the opportunity (like this weekend) he will enjoy a few too many drinks and be horribly hungover the following day

I was thinking of putting a hangover kit in his suitcase, paracetomol and ibuprofen are first on the list!
But I don't drink so not really sure what else to put in there

Any tips welcome!

Solpadine / can of Coke / walk / veggie sausage sarnie with HP sauce - cured me nicely last weekend! Oh and sweets for sucking - Polos, fruit pastilles etc, to take the nasty taste out of the mouth.

hugoagogo · 23/04/2014 13:15

I heard that paracetamol was bad for your liver too.

I go for greggs cheese and onion pasty and a bottle of lemon fanta.

Is it weird that I never get a headache after drinking? I just feel yukky.

DaddysBigTummy · 23/04/2014 13:19

Defo Dirolyte. I went drinking last Tuesday and had a bottle of wine, spirits and juice and Malibu and coke, came home at midnight, had 2 sachets of dirolyte in 2 glasses of water and just felt a bit tired on Wednesday and I normally suffer quite bad from hangovers obviously not bad enough to stop me drinking though

Tingatingatale · 23/04/2014 13:39

I find a berocca and two ibrufen before bed works wonders. The berroca replaces sugars and vitamins and ibrufen stops your head swelling.

MaxPepsi · 23/04/2014 14:26

Resolve - Extra Strength if available
Orange and Lime - for the sugar kick
Oasis, citrus spring flavour
Walkers Cheese and Onion Crisps

Water before bed - can of diet (for me) coke or a bottle of pepsi max for during the night.

Good hearty breakfast if he can stomach it the next day

Or, just get him to drink vodka and fresh orange all weekend - I never get hangovers with that.....shame I can't say the same for lager, cider or wine!!

Pumpkinette · 23/04/2014 14:29

2 paracetamol, ice cold can of Irn Bru (not diet) and a full fry up. Works everytime Grin

sparechange · 23/04/2014 14:31

2 x Nurofen plus
1 x ice cold can of diet coke
1 x packet of quavers

The best thing is actually to drink loads of water before you go to sleep but no one ever remembers to do that

PrimalLass · 23/04/2014 14:35

Irn Bru.

MaxPepsi · 23/04/2014 14:44

*orange and lime TIC TACS!!!

GeraldineFangedVagine · 23/04/2014 14:50

wonderingsoul · 23/04/2014 15:09

can of full fat coke. chicken nugget sandwhivh
hair of the dog
and the best frozen lollys!
also drink water before bed

Thentherewere4 · 23/04/2014 15:18

Greggs Sausage Roll & Irn Bru - may not be the classiest but it works a treat!

Whatisaweekend · 23/04/2014 15:25

Milk thistle in the run up
Bread to line the stomach
A pint of water at least before falling into bed
A can or two of full fat coke
Bacon sandwich
Bloody Marys

squoosh · 23/04/2014 15:29

He's away with his friends. They will all get up at noon, go for a massive man sized fry, wash it down with a pint and be on their way. No need to pack anything for him.

Bohemond · 23/04/2014 15:31

Mini cheddars, can of coke and immigran tablet (probably shouldn't but it stops a pounding headache without adding to the nausea).

lollipoppi · 23/04/2014 15:31

Thanks all, just back from the shops / chemist with lots of remedies including pickled onion monster munch, tic tacs, lucozade, bottles of water, Ibuprofen and those antacid fizzy things

Good shout Tingatingatale
I often have them as well.
Always have some in my cupboard.

BreconBeBuggered · 23/04/2014 15:43

Get him to drink the pop before he goes to bed. I second Irn Bru, with some crisps and fizzy sweets. Hell, I often pour myself a big glass of wine purely to justify taking the prevention measures.

Melonbreath · 23/04/2014 16:08

Definitely full fat irn bru. I swear by it.
And sushi or pret a manger crayfish sandwich

NationMcKinley · 23/04/2014 19:14

Stugeron (sp?) travel sickness tablets are my best remedy. I don't often get hangovers (not many opportunities these days Sad) but these were my student hangover cure of choice! They're brill at getting rid of that dizzy, queasy feeling.

Flowers for you as Top Wife!

Boaby · 23/04/2014 19:25

Full fat irn bru & something deep fried from the chippy. Although not deep fried sweets, I once made the mistake of having chips & a deep fried creme egg from the chippy....hmm that was not good.

How many times do i need to say deep fried Grin seriously though no sweets

Safmellow · 23/04/2014 19:26

My friend in NZ swears by Coconut Water.

Szeli · 23/04/2014 23:19

Cucumber!

CatOfTheDay · 23/04/2014 23:27

In a pint of water, dissolve two of these, a Berocca, and two soluble co-codamol.

Follow with a bacon buttie :)

WhoAteAllTheEasterEggs · 23/04/2014 23:30

If you can face it, two pints of water before going to bed is the best thing to do. Stops you getting too dehydrated which is mostly what causes you to feel crap in the first place.
If that doesn't work, sip a can of full fat coke and have a sausage and tomato sandwich for breakfast! Smile
