That's interesting about Canada - I presumed that it would be like America which barely notices Christmas, much less Easter.

I think there was drink at the RDS, and I suppose there were a couple of Gaelic matches on, so people must have gone to "watch the match" Grin. It's amazing what shutting the pub will do to whet a nation's appetite.

Ironically, I would be quite happy if they shut the pubs for St Patrick's Day - I hate the national drunken frenzy that is Dublin city centre in the afternoon. And don't mention Arthur's Day ffs [sigh]

Yes paddys day in dublin would be my idea of hell too.
And I don't agree with Arthur's day in essence - surely it's a diageo marketing ploy
