I'm watching 'Selling Houses' and people looked and one house and said 'oh no, net curtains. Look the whole street has nets'.
Now I know that there are some nets that are a bit old fashioned but are they such a sin?

I don't mind net curtains at all, I think of all the options if you face straight onto a road/pavement (like Viva's picture) they are the most sensible. I love some of the bedroom lacy ones, not naff at all.

But even if they are naff, who cares? They are practical and give you privacy which to me is invaluable in my own home. I really couldn't give a stuff if they don't meet the house-style police's weird made-up rules about what is stylish and what is not, who genuinely would worry about that? One pair of net curtains won't ruin the look of an entire room if it otherwise looks nice.

I don't like net's personally. But I can see why some people need them.
