Peppa pig

PirateJelly · 10/04/2014 08:39

Just watching it now. Why the hell is the Queen of Peppa pig land a human? Makes no sense! Also why is Mrs Hamster the vet the same size as Dr Elephant? And lastly how come birds and tortoises can't speak and are pets but all other animals are human like? Hmm

As much as I like Peppa pig this really irritates me. Am I them only one or AIBU? Grin

Never seen the queen. Will turn on now youngest (14) has gone to school.

Get back to you. Grin

LittleBearPad · 10/04/2014 08:43

I think it's best not to overthink it and just let the addictive qualities do their worst on the DC.

LittleBearPad · 10/04/2014 08:43

Although if you come to it how on earth does Miss Rabbit do everything she does ( and who does her voice? It's bugging me)

PirateJelly · 10/04/2014 08:44

It's just finished. Miss Rabbit (my fav) was awarded a medal and went to see the Queen to be given it. The queen was human and the same size as Miss Rabbit Hmm she also spoke to Miss Rabbit on the same level as if it was natural for a giant speaking rabbit to vist the queen Confused

It's like watching life on too much gas and air.

Mind you I was brought up on the magic roundabout and the herbs

No hope.

LiberalLibertine · 10/04/2014 08:48

Mrs rabbit and Nanny plum are one and the same voice Shock

PirateJelly · 10/04/2014 08:49

YY to miss Rabbit having every job there is,she's wonder woman clearly!

Also pisses me off an episode where Mrs Rabbit is having a baby and the children are picking names, they all say something like "Rosie Rabbit or Robbie Rabbit" an then Pedro Pony says something like "how about Micheal Rabbit?" and everyone screams "No!!". Because naturally all names have to start with the same letter as the animal they are,ok. Except George Pig Hmm thats fine apparently Confused

To much time on my hands....must get ready for work Blush

The most objectionable thing is Mr Potato. He is a walking talking potato in a world of mutant animals.

Mordirig · 10/04/2014 08:54

Don't get me started on Mr Potato!
Is he a potato?
Is he a human dressed up like a potato?
Or is he an animal dressed up like a potato?

I really want to live in Peppa Pig land though, it seems idyllic really.

Every house is detatched with rolling hills as a view.
The nursery teacher is an ex world record holder who played in an international band who has travelled the world.
The doctor is always available and comes to see a child who has a simple cough!
Close to the seaside and the mountains!
It has an aquarium and space museum and a castle.
Most importantly, in Peppa pig land adults can jump in muddy puddles and people will join in and laugh instead of giving you a wide birth and shielding their children from you.

PirateJelly · 10/04/2014 08:56

Yes Mr bloody Potato I'd forgotten all about him Angry
I was ok with it when he was just in TV as he could have been fictional but oh no they all go to Potato land or whatever the Theme park is and meet him, a giant walking talking potato. Your right that point alone clearly means there is no point rationalising this stupid program in my head...back to CBeebies sigh.

I want to know why the Wottingers (tiny blue peg people) only appear in one in twenty episodes on ITNG?

Why is there so much preference given to the Pontipines (tiny red peg people)? It seems they only wheel the Wottingers out when the Pontipines want to do some serious waving or show off their banquet of food that they wheel onto the Ninky Nonk and throw up the walls and over themselves.

Why is the NN and the PP so fucked up perspective wise? In some scenes they are a quarter of the size of the main characters, in others fifty times the size.

Also does Macka Packa ever disinfect his manky sponge? It seems to be constantly moist so a breeding ground for bacteria, plus he is using it to wash rocks and faces simultaneously. Not sanitary at all. Plus OCD much? All that stacking of stones and manic washing does make me think he may need a diagnosis.

PirateJelly · 10/04/2014 09:02

Oh and one last thing which drives me mad. In some episodes and in all the books there is an open top fish bowl complete with water and fish ON TOP of the TV!! Is there no Health and Safety or common sense in Peppa pig land I cringe evertime I see it, with 2 young children as well!

OcadoSubstitutedMyHummus · 10/04/2014 09:02

There's no point arguing with the madness of it.

sebsmummy1 · 10/04/2014 09:04

Btw I do know my post doesn't refer to Peppa Pig, we haven't got onto the hard stuff yet. We are still working our way there using In The Night as our entry level drug of choice.

Pipbin · 10/04/2014 09:04

Now I've not watched much Peppa Pig, but I always want to know what they eat. If they eat meat then how the hell does that work?

PirateJelly · 10/04/2014 09:08

sebsmummy I agree with your statement completed regarding Night Garden especially when Macca Pacca et al get in the Ninky Nonk. Before hand they are half way up the tree height wise yet when they are in the Ninky Nonk they look tiny falling all around the carriages and when the camera zooms out the Ninky Nonk looks about 8 inch high!! Confused

Unfortunately I don't have the brain capacity to dissect Night Garden and must admit I don't watch it properly as it fries my brain yet I actually enjoy watching PP Blush

Pirate my son LOVES In The Night soooo much. He is 16 months and does the hand thing himself (in the opening credits the parents walks little circles on the palm of the baby's hand with their finger). He leaps about and shouts and stamps his feet. It really is the cutest thing so as a result my partner and I also watch In The Night every evening - hence the analysis Blush

pudseypie · 10/04/2014 09:23

Pipbin they eat potatoes, spaghetti, tomatoes and chocolate cake. My ds is obsessed with peppa bloody pig. I think I've seen every single episode.

PirateJelly · 10/04/2014 09:29

We still watch both Night Garden and Peppa Pig and have done since Ds was about 18 months,he is now nearly 5,nearly 5 Shock I feel like ive done a bloody Degree in the subject. I'm yearning for the day weake the transfer to CBBC instead of CBeebies although I feel it may be a sad time also (end of an era).

Miss rabbit is morwenna banks. I think she is also nanny plum.

I love daddy pig. He's just lovely.

bonzo77 · 10/04/2014 09:38

I mean morwenna does the voices for miss rabbit and nanny plum.

TheHandbagOfGlory · 10/04/2014 09:39

We took the DC's to Peppa Pig World, it was totally mad there too.

Chippednailvarnish · 10/04/2014 09:42

My 6 year old Ds has informed me that the reason the birds and tortoise can't speak in Peppa Pig is because only the mammals can speak...

He's not been proved wrong yet!

stinkingbishop · 10/04/2014 09:42

sebmummy I have thought this. I have also (this is how many times I've had to watch the bloomin' thing) thought about suggesting that Pointless have an 'In The Night Garden' round. Because I think the Wattingers would be the pointless answer. Everyone would go for Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy. I need to get out more.
