I work with someone that constantly tells me the far end of a fart rather than keeping things brief and to the point. I'm too busy. Tips on how to deal with this would be appreciated.

Give me a chatterer any day over a person with whom conversing is like pulling teeth Grin

I am of a like mind, OP. I find your position is entirely tenable and I can endorse it 100% without any negative consideration, or reservation as to possible unreasonableness.

I do this. Blush It's a nervous thing and no, I don't like the sound of my own voice. When I become aware that I'm doing it I get flustered and just let the sentences trail off which is also irritating.

I have a theory as to why I do it but I don't know whether it's a plausible one.

I know it's an annoying trait and I do try not to go on but the more nervous I am, the more that I do it.

Our school principal does this.

Assembly attendance has nosedived.
