To think that Ant & Dec probably don't actually shop at Morrisons

I have nothing against Ant & Dec, I quite like them as presenters but recently am feeling slightly irked that they pretend they can now afford 'another pie' because they have shopped on 'Market street'!
Surely these are two of the highest earning presenters in the UK?

I also wonder if Morrisons could lower their prices slightly if they weren't paying fees to the likes of Ant & Dec.

Like I said - nothing against Ant & Dec :)
I know, I probably need to get a life Blush

Do Ant and Dec live in London?

There are not many Morrison's in London.

Canus · 08/04/2014 11:27

Well, adverts are generally a load of fantastic rubbish, that's the point.

Who knows where they shop. I don't think there is a supermarket I haven't shopped at over the last year. Some sell good puddings, some have better than average fruit and vegetables, some have good butchers.

I think most people shop like that.

I don't go anywhere, or buy anything, just because an advertisement says I should.

CoffeeTea103 · 08/04/2014 11:41

Is this a genuine surprise to you? Do you actually believe that people who promote products actually use only them? Come on, don't be so naive.

ComposHat · 08/04/2014 11:43

I bet Len Goodman isn't an habitually fpund in the isles of farm foods either. Kerry Katona didn't look like she was a stranger to an Iceland Donner Kebab pizza though.

shakinstevenslovechild · 08/04/2014 11:44

They have to shop somewhere I suppose, and they probably gave a staff discount card for Morrisons now Grin

I don't think they will be overly fussed about saving money on pies though.

Can you imagine if Carol Vorderman used every service/product she advertised? Confused

They used to live in Chiswick. No morrisons there. SmileNaice artisan bread shop and a sainsburys though.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 08/04/2014 11:55

Well, do any of these slebs actually use the item they are advertising.....does Kate Moss really use Rimmel, does Keira Knightly wear Coco Channel....etc etc.

Probably not but who cares. I can't imagine anyone would buy into a product because their favourite sleb promotes it. I mean, do we really think these pop groups are in the lab slaving away making their own fragrance. I think not.

WilsonFrickett · 08/04/2014 13:18

That made me lol. She'd be exhausted! Grin

Apparently they do their own ironing. An Addison Lee driver told me one of them is known for running late and could usually be seen frantically pressing a shirt through the window while the car waited.

LIZS · 08/04/2014 13:21

are there any Morrisons in SW London ?

Tinkerball · 08/04/2014 13:23

Don't see why they wouldn't if they lived near one, it's just a supermarket and they have to shop for food like us mete mortals!

Tinkerball · 08/04/2014 13:23

Mere!!

SavoyCabbage · 08/04/2014 13:24

I always think this about the box hair dye adverts. Sure Cheryl Cole is going to dye her own hair.

They've been slebs since childhood. I doubt they've seen the inside of a real supermarket in decades. And why should they? If I earned enough, I'd never do another food shop myself I would have minions.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 08/04/2014 13:29

The one in chalke farm (where they film the ads) is a fab one!

squoosh · 08/04/2014 13:46

Next you'll be telling me Joan Collins doesn't eat a Snickers whilst standing in the men's changing room of her local rugby club in an evening gown.

WireCat · 08/04/2014 13:49

What Squoosh Shock My god.

givemeaclue · 08/04/2014 13:53

If you promote a supermarket you are usually under contract not be seen shopping at any other supermarkets and all your shopping is normally paid for. I know someone who worked in marketing for a supermarket and this was the case for the person who was fronting their ads, not a famous person just a model. She couldn't be seen in another supermarket and got a years free shopping.

CoolCadbury · 08/04/2014 14:00

Yes, givemeaclue. I think it's pretty much the same thing for celebs promoting perfume too.

squoosh · 08/04/2014 14:00

I seem to remember Jools Oliver getting in trouble because she was spotted shopping in Waitrose while Jamie had the contract with Sainsbury's.

Nancy66 · 08/04/2014 14:08

they'll have a contract saying that they can't be seen shopping at/endorsing a rival.

doesn't mean they can't get assistants to buy it for them though

TooOldForGlitter · 08/04/2014 14:41

Does that mean Len Goodman gets free 'shops' at Farmfoods?! Grin

squoosh · 08/04/2014 14:44

Len Goodman looks really creepy in those Farmfoods ads, he's got such a sinister rictus grin.

tadleylass · 08/04/2014 16:42

their used to be one on kings rd I don't know if it's still their but was a Safeway's when they bought them out
