To think that Ant & Dec probably don't actually shop at Morrisons

I have nothing against Ant & Dec, I quite like them as presenters but recently am feeling slightly irked that they pretend they can now afford 'another pie' because they have shopped on 'Market street'!
Surely these are two of the highest earning presenters in the UK?

I also wonder if Morrisons could lower their prices slightly if they weren't paying fees to the likes of Ant & Dec.

Like I said - nothing against Ant & Dec :)
I know, I probably need to get a life Blush

I was in an advert for 'smokers toothpaste' back in the 90's
Told everyone it made my teeth look sparkly!
I didn't smoke then.

They don't shop at Morrisons. But Tess Daley and Davina McCall don't dye their own hair at home either.

They are just getting paid to promote a product.

squoosh · 08/04/2014 17:07

Yes but Tess Daley and Davina McCall are legally required to have the hair dye that they're advertising on their actual hair in the ads.

uggmum · 27/04/2014 12:04

That may be so. But I'm sure it's applied by a professional. I doubt they home dye their hair every 6 weeks!

They used to shop in Tescos in Fulham, used to see them in there on and off.

AgaPanthers · 27/04/2014 16:20

Morrisons are better than Waitrose (and every other supermarket) for fresh fruit + veg and ethnic foods. The meat selection isn't great though.

littlewhitebag · 27/04/2014 16:24

The meat counter in my tiny, and generally crap, Morrisons is fantastic. As is the fish counter.

Louise1956 · 27/04/2014 16:34

I don't suppose they really shop in Morrisons. I don't suppose the Spice Girls do their Christmas shopping in Tescos either. But I really don't think it is a good idea for supermarkets to lower their prices any further, farmers are being ripped off as it is, supermarkets pay them less for their produce than it costs them to produce, which is an absolute disgrace.

AgaPanthers · 27/04/2014 16:35

I don't think the fish counter is great. They sell undersized fish (presumably because a small lemon sole costs much less per kilo than a proper sized one), and the mussels I bought there yesterday were very far from fresh.

The meat counter has some interesting things like oxtail, and pork knuckles, but the pork isn't outdoor reared (Waitrose pork all is), and there's definitely an emphasis on low price over quality. Better than Tesco though.

Waitrose meat counter is better than Morrisons, for fish I prefer frozen (much fresher, I saw they were selling tiger prawns 'previously frozen' in Morrisons for £21/kg yesterday, why buy that when you can buy a whole box in the Chinese supermarket for about £10 and defrost when you cook them). Waitrose also sell defrosted frozen fish slowly rotting on ice, mind, totally pointless.

Ant and dec live in Chiswick and there's a morrisons in acton not far but saying that I think I've seen them in waitrose. Bet they get things delivered normally

Sicaq · 27/04/2014 16:40

I'm in the Acton one every week. Never seen them; maybe they use the Shepherd's Bush branch.

littlewhitebag · 27/04/2014 16:40

I don't have a Waitrose anywhere near so i have no idea what their meat or fish is like. Morrisons here (East Scotland) stocks local meat produce and their steaks are fantastic.
