Sitting here alone feeling fed up while my partner is out doing his fitness thing on a Mon evening, Wednesday evening, Thurs evening. Saturday Morning and Sunday afternoon!

He works 32 hours a week, I work 46 and he has asked me to go but tbh I'm too knackered!
And the housework does not get done by waving a magic wand...

If you just have one teenage son then surely there isn't a lot of housework to be done, I only have one teenager and get my housework done in a couple of hours a week (which includes my ironing which you are outsourcing Hmm).

What exactly is it that you feel your DH should be doing?

capsium · 08/04/2014 13:36

Ragwort Don't you think OP's husband should do any of the housework then? He works less than she does...

I don't see why this is being perceived as gym v housework. DH and I both work out, separately, six days out of seven (one of us has to mind DS).

Unless you're washing clothes by hand and scrubbing floors daily, housework doesn't take very long. Half an hour max each day, surely? Or are we slobs?!

What I'm trying to say is, those of us who work out a lot still do housework. We just don't tend to watch as much tv. The vital stuff still gets done (usually....)

capsium - yes of course the OP's DH should share the housework but as I said earlier there really can't be that much to do in a household with two adults and a teenager (which is the same as my household) - unless you are a clean freak of course Grin.

I just think the Op sounds a bit of a martyr - perhaps she would be better finding something to fill her evenings rather than worrying about housework or how her husband spends his time Hmm.
