Fifteen months we've been trying for DC2. My period hasn't started yet but it's due in six days and I'm getting tearful like I always do. We are having sex every other day, I'm almost completely tee total, I'm overweight but am working on it (lost ten pounds since Christmas). It's just shit. Why am I not pregnant? DS needs a sibling dammit!

DTD doggy style allows deep penetration and therefore a 'better' chance at conceiving because sperm is released closer to the cervix.

We're about to TTC DC2 (me too 35 and DS1 already 2yrs, 3mths) though it has taken 2 years to convince him to have number 2 and we've postponed once already due to work/holiday related matters.

These stories worry me - about secondary infertility. Especially as I had a placenta abruption and a slight uterine tear first time round.

The people who are saying that op hasn't been ttc long as they have been trying for x number of years are just being rude.

Ttc misery is not a competition, people are entitled to express their feelings even if you feel you have had a harder time.

Would you go on a thread where a was feeling upset about having flu and say oh well I have cancer flu is nothing!

fideline · 14/04/2014 21:21

Well that killed the thread.

Read through the RCOG Fertility problems guidelines. Although, depending on your area, IVF is unlikely to be offered on the NHS as you already have a child, you can be referred for investigation and treatment if you haven't conceived within a year, with early investigation suggested for those over 35.

Well said Ikea I refrained from saying something earlier in the thread on the same subject.

I fear I'm in for a rockier road than I first imagined - test results today are somewhat dissapointing :(

Awaiting an appt with an English speaking Gynae to see where we go from here :(
