So I'm hoping you could all inspire me with your ideas Smile

I'm on the Fylde coast & I refuse to go to the arcades or pleasure beach .
Was hoping for a Museum or something to do for a whole day, I don't drive so have to rely on trains .

i am in england so dsc's don't break up for another week but so far we have a day trip to York planned as the kids have been talking about it at school and want to go, we will go for a few long walks with the dog that will at some point involve a park and we will probably go swimming as well. there are a few local city farms near me so we may go and investigate a couple ohhh and the obligatory easter egg hunt round the garden with the kids from next door

HesterShaw · 06/04/2014 23:40

No. YANBU..

WorraLiberty · 06/04/2014 23:40

Mine are nearly 15yrs and 11yrs

Southend pleasure beach

Arcades

Imperial War museum

Football/cricket/picnic in the park (weather permitting)

Golf driving range

London Eye

Then I'm going to pray to god they get enough money from family to buy a new XBox game...cos after that I'm all out of ideas and money Grin

sleepwouldbenice · 06/04/2014 23:41

If the weather is good have a look at the 50 things to do before you are 11 3/4 on the national trust website. We have done a few over the last few weeks and the kids have enjoyed. Hasn't cost anything so far

WorraLiberty · 06/04/2014 23:41

wheresthelight I'm in England too and mine broke up last Friday.

I'm in England too, and a teacher, I hope there aren't children turning up at school tomorrow!

That said, term dates are set at a county level, not national.

unicornpoop · 06/04/2014 23:44

Cinema, do some arts and crafts, go pond dipping (tadpoles and cute baby frogs at this time of year), see what local events are on, check out dayoutwiththekids website for local days out, and have you ever heard of geocaching? My ds loves it!

TheNightIsDark · 06/04/2014 23:49

3 days at playscheme, DSD is here for a week but she has scarlet fever so if she seems ok then woods, park, baking, playing and movies.

I've been secretly buying DSD rainbow magic books so when she gets here tomorrow she will see 60 of them on her bookcase. That's her sorted for the week Grin

bobot · 06/04/2014 23:49

In England too, holidays have started here.

Lots of gardening (we've had plans to sort the garden out and give them a vegetable patch.

Easter crafts - lots of them.

Baking (hot cross buns, resurrection cakes plus a birthday tea party)

A trip to the farm (this is our one grand day out)

There is a lot on at the library where we live, and it's free :-)

Go out for walks.

wheresthelight · 06/04/2014 23:52

its bloody nuts worra and pipbin! My family all live in the south and their easter hols are set at county level (Essex and Surrey) but round here it is still the weeks either side of the actual weekend which means that we can't go away to family as we haven't got the kids til their second week when all the family kids are back at school!

CointreauVersial · 06/04/2014 23:53

Err....not a lot. I'm working, so DD2 will go to holiday club and DS and DD1 will be left to their own devices. DS has planned a mountain boarding session tomorrow, but apart from that they won't be doing a lot apart from hanging out with friends or lounging in their PJs

FoolishFay · 06/04/2014 23:57

Taking my DD, 6, to Coppelia, a family version of the ballet at Sadlers Wells. Can't wait.

muminthecity · 07/04/2014 00:03

Swimming, beach visit, picnic in park with big group of friends, local funfair, 2 birthday parties, Thorpe Park, cinema, London Transport Museum, a couple of lazy DVD days plus a day of going round London parks (St. James', Green Park and Hyde Park, finishing with the Diana Memorial Playground.) Will also visit friends and family in between. Should keep us going for a couple of weeks!

CrazyHhas5kitties · 07/04/2014 00:39

I envy all the museums & walks in the woods you lot have planned , The only museum we have is a fisherman's one in an old tiny house Hmm & no woods at all Envy

Might do the Beach Thursday & investigate the Rock Pools etc

I don't have the nerves to do anything Messy such as baking as Ds has AS & OCD so I would need a lot of vodka to do that Grin

Have fun at the Botanical Gardens (in sheffield) it is beautiful their Smile

Worra, I think the IWM is shut until the summer again.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/04/2014 11:47

I'm quite grateful its a teen now and arranges his own stuff in the holidays. Mind you I just end up ferrying him aroundHmm Grin

WorraLiberty · 07/04/2014 12:30

JammieCodger thank you so much for that!

I've just googled and it's shut til July. I would have never thought to check before setting off to Elephant and Castle Blush

I have just come back from Soft Play & we were the only ones their Hmm

It was rather creepy & I half expected something/someone to jump out of the ball pool & try to kill me Blush Hmm Grin

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 07/04/2014 14:58

Oh I would have loved that OP

I mean the empty place...not the thought of something jumping out of the ball pool to try to kill me! Grin

bakingaddict · 07/04/2014 15:19

Soft play, parks, Kids AM at the cinema, maybe a museum if I feel like venturing into Central London. Might go to the Aquatics centre but try to avoid swimming in the school holidays. Visiting family up north for the second week and my DBro lives by the Anthony Gormley Another World statues so lots of walks along the beach and going to Formby woods, funfair and maybe a trip to Knowsley Safari park if the weather is nice enough

chickydoo · 07/04/2014 15:24

Mine will have to sort themselves out DD 18 & DS 16 will babysit for DS 14 & DS 9
I have to work the whole Easter break, will only have 1 day off in 16. DH will have the Easter weekend off, so he might do something with them.
The joys of working, wish I didn't have toHmm
