I was having a discreet post prandial nap when the doorbell rang about 5 or 6 times. I opened the door to catch a glimpse of my Dad shuffling off round the side of the house...snorting with laughter.

He was completely unfazed when I told him that April Fool wasn't until tomorrow. He is such a chancer.

I remember when I was about 7-8 and dsis was 3-4 mum used to send her out the front with me to play, she couldnt run very fast so me and my mates tied her to a lamp post while we played knock a door run

The last time I played we were completely sober, me a friend and her husband.

It was a combination of sitting in the car with mobile phones ringing the 'victim's' mobile and land line, then someone going to knock on the door while he was answering the landline to nothing.

It's definitely knock a door run. I'm from Stoke originally and we obviously know what's what there.

I once did something similar with DH and his friend. DH's friend always dials 1471 if he just misses a call and rings back if he knows the number.

So I rang him and, just as he picked up, I hung up. Then I hid. Sure enough, the phone rang and DH answered.

The "No I didn't - you rang me!" argument went on for some minutes until DH heard me laughing
