Absolutely rocks and is a far more efficient use of money than anti ageing face creams??

There was a young girl, mid 20's, on Masterchef last night who had way too much Botox, her eyebrows were almost elevated above her head.

PisforPeter · 27/03/2014 22:13

You are probably right edwin because they are thicker stronger muscles.

Botox can look great.

I can also spot the difference between Botox and surgery and Nicole Kidman has had surgery. A lot of it.

PisforPeter · 28/03/2014 08:54

Botox from late 20's prevents you getting lines :)

I'm 26 and will definitely get it by about 28, my genetics aren't great and I can already see the beginnings but does anyone know what can be done for under eye lines?

Birdsgottafly · 28/03/2014 09:00

I like Fillers, although, I had good results from Botox on a frown line that hasn't returned, seven years later.

I will see your Botox with Face Peels, combined with Botox/Fillers, they are the dogs bollocks.

mrsjay · 28/03/2014 09:46

you know if you are happy then that is fine I like to see peoples face move and the over botoxed look is just ridiculous nobody knows if they are happy or sad and we have a fgeneration of women who think this is a good look imo it isn't

CrystalJelly · 28/03/2014 09:54

One of my Aunties has had Botox. She's never admitted to it but it's obvious, she's been a sun worshipper all her life so had deep lines and crows feet etc but turned up at a family wedding looking suspiciously fresh faced and her wrinkles had almost vanished . Everyone noticed, and the results were very good.

Having seen her results it I'd consider it in the future for sure, but at the moment I don't think I need it. I don't smoke and don't lie in the sun so I have pretty good skin with only a few fine lines on my forehead. But I'd never rule it out.

Nancy66 · 28/03/2014 09:58

crystal - it's much more likely she had a face or brow lift.
Botox isn't a miracle worker. It will soften lines, it won't make long established lines disappear.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 28/03/2014 09:59

I suppose the key is use it in moderation, don't get addicted and end up looking like Katie Price who looks much older than she is.

mrsjay · 28/03/2014 10:00

yes I think moderation is fine the over done look scares me half to death Grin

mrsjay · 28/03/2014 10:01

saw a woman on tv the other night about a posh jewellers she was having a do oh she was look very SURPRISED and PLUMPED of face i thought eek

maggiemight · 28/03/2014 10:04

I read that freezing your expression meant that you cannot empathise the same with people, for example, when they are describing an unhappy event.

Also wonder about small DCs/babies learning how to speak and relate to other humans if their DM looks lineless and robotic???

Confusing for them I would think.

mrsjay · 28/03/2014 10:13

you are right maggie imo you need expression to communicate with people

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 28/03/2014 10:15

But I think your face will only freeze with excessive use?

PisforPeter · 28/03/2014 16:51

birdsgottafly I might try a few more things in a few years :)

Melonbreath · 28/03/2014 19:58

I would love to have both, scared of fillers though. Don't want a pillow face

Melonbreath · 28/03/2014 19:59

Stupid spellchecker

BrokenToeOuch · 28/03/2014 20:05

Not something I'd consider, even though I have a few frown lines, but at 29 I'm confident enough in my own skin not to want it. I've surprised myself actually, I'm really disapproving of pretty much anything that's purely all about vanity that comes with a risk (cosmetic surgery mainly) but I still think 'if it makes you happy, why not?'. (apart from the dangers, obviously!)

Botox is amazing, I love it, have done for 7 years, will continue to for many more to come. Grin

wobblyweebles · 28/03/2014 22:45

One of the school mums had it in slightly the wrong place and one side of her face drooped for weeks.

My SIL is currently looking quite 'surprised' all the time.

Not for me...

mrsjay · 29/03/2014 09:03

maybe she has had some shocking news wibbly Grin dds friends gran has set herself a surgery in the extention (sp) of her house you don't need to be medically trained to do botox obviously she worked in an office for years
