To want to stick a bomb under my opposite neighbour's caravan?? ( lighthearted! )

We've lived here a couple of years now. The opposite neighbour has a tourer caravan that hasn't left their drive way during that time. I say tourer, technically it is but it's obviously pretty static. It's ugly and blocks their drive so they
park all their cars in our crowded cul de sac. It also obscures most of their front door and porch.

Now, I'm not the best at decluttering I'll admit but I'd soon shift a caravan I never used. And, as garden features go, caravans don't feature on my list.

AIBU to wish it would disappear somehow, anyhow....?!

No caravans are allowed on driveways here. In covenants.

Roshbegosh · 27/03/2014 22:21

I bet a lot of fiverabits turn out to be "witches". I would be too living with such a downbeat, nasty bitch next door.

mumofthemonsters808 · 27/03/2014 22:43

I could have wrote your post because I am opposite a house with a caravan in their front drive. We have lived here for 5 years and it has never moved once. I bloody hate the monstrosity, I'd understand if they went on the odd trip in it, but why would you just have some eyesore stood there?.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 27/03/2014 22:52

In defence of my sister her house faces the side of someone else's so nobody is directly looking at it. Grin

AreYouBlueOrAreYouBlind · 27/03/2014 23:01

I think the word Fugly was invented just for caravans, it's perfect.

Caravans are such a Janet and Roy leisure pursuit anyway. Grin

Longdistance · 27/03/2014 23:09

Dh and I take the puss out of caravans on the road. We caravan spot.

'Ooo look it's a Highlander markIII', 'I can't believe I've just seen a Tornado Deluxe'...you get my drift.

My dp's neighbours have had one for years. Haven't seen them use it fir years, and a friend of theirs lived in it for a while. Awful bloody things.

Longdistance · 27/03/2014 23:10

And why is it, that the most hideously useless drivers own them?

OnIlkleyMoorBahTwat · 27/03/2014 23:25

Could there be someone living in it?

Someone I know got one for her teenage DS when the family outgrew their house.

We have settled travellers living opposite us and a caravan often appears on the spare ground at the side of our house with people in it. They are no trouble and you hardly know that they are there.

Sparklingbrook · 28/03/2014 06:58

Ooh there's an idea. Buy a fugly caravan and stick it on the drive for DS1 (14) to live in. The neighbours would love that, And we could park our cars all over the street too. Grin

Sixgeese · 28/03/2014 11:18

I live in a cul de sac, no caravans allowed here either - in the covenants (we also can't turn the house into a nunnery)

CrystalJelly · 28/03/2014 12:18

We have camper van actually parked on our street. The owners have a driveway but choose to park their cars on it, so the van is shoved on the road making it difficult for larger vehicles to pass. It never moves and I can't see the point in having a camper van if you never use it? It's completely selfish to leave it on the road IMO.

DavenotChas · 28/03/2014 12:47

Ha! I've got a fecking horse box across the road from me. A big. ugly, never-been-moved-since-it-arrived-there horse box. I don't even think they've got a horse...

Juliaparker25 · 28/03/2014 13:38

Take Off......Nuke it from Orbit .......Its the only way to be sure

fluffyraggies · 28/03/2014 13:58
Grin sparkling its definitely a caravan. It has wheels! SIL has burdened PIL with allot of her stuff (long story) wont get rid, and the only place they have for it is in the caravan out front.
Sparklingbrook · 28/03/2014 14:02

I could not have a caravan full of someone else's stuff cluttering up my drive fluffy. Grin SIL should get a storage locker.

HappyAgainOneDay · 28/03/2014 14:07

CrystalJelly What would happen if emergency vehicles wanted to pass it?
