I like Trollhunter.

Mogz · 25/03/2014 12:32

If you're looking for something scary download Year Walk (make sure you dl the compnaion too) on iPad. It's freaky.

FannyFifer · 25/03/2014 12:38

That smiling man one is feckin creepy.

50shadesofknackered · 25/03/2014 12:47

WorryWombat that sentence about the girl hearing het mum call her from downstairs but her mum pulled her into her room coz she'd 'heard it too' literally gave me goosebumps, just horrible

theimposter · 25/03/2014 20:29

Well that's 25 minutes of my life I won't ever get back... Best proper films for me are the Guillermo del Toro ones such as The Orphanage and I also like Insidious and the later ones by same director.

FrancesNiadova · 25/03/2014 20:45

Oh, shall I click the link? (Wobbles), no, I'm too much of a scaredy cat, (goes off to hide behind the sofa!) Blush

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 25/03/2014 22:19

Try if you like short, creepy stories :)

minouminou · 26/03/2014 15:06

Trollhunter is hilarious.....

It's actually though-provoking, too, in a weird way.

Lovecat · 26/03/2014 15:39

Oh FFS, you lot!

I only just started to read WorryingWombat's description of the film before I realised what it was and I had NIGHTMARES ALL NIGHT about a fucking white-eyed demon standing next to my bed (I'm on the side by the door and light switch)!

I think I'll be hiding this thread now...

NurseyWursey · 26/03/2014 15:58

Oh that was horrible - love it though!

Good old fashion creepy films are the best.

This terrified me though

^ I begin tucking him into bed and he tells me, “Daddy check for monsters under my bed.”
I look underneath for his amusement and see him, another him, under the bed, staring back at me quivering and whispering, “Daddy there’s somebody on my bed.”^

GimmeDaBoobehz · 26/03/2014 17:26

Who wants to tell me what Trollhunter and Year Walk is (I don't think 11 month old DD would like it, I'm guessing so will wait until later to see it for myself).

I do like horror stories but short ones don't tend to scare me as I have to start to feel the fear iyswim.

I don't mind short horror films though.

I don't like jumpy things, my heart just can't take them.

GimmeDaBoobehz · 26/03/2014 17:27

Oh and the cat with hands, pray tell?

SolidGoldBrass · 26/03/2014 17:31

Oh, La Cabina! My mother saw that on TV when I was about 10, and told me the plot, which spooked me for years. Then, about 12 years ago I was in a goth club and they were showing it in the back room so I finally saw it.

To this DAY I won't shut the door completely if I go into an actual old fashioned phone box...

thenightsky · 26/03/2014 17:43

I remember seeing that telephone box one years ago, when cinemas used to show a short 'B' movie before the main film.

SapphireMoon · 26/03/2014 18:09

Re: Telephone box one....

Still not plucked up the courage to click on the youtube link to watch it again 30 years later...
May not be so horrible second time round as know what is going to happen.
The horror crept up on me first time round as realised things were not going to come right....
Real nightmarish quality....

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 26/03/2014 18:33

You really have to watch the cat with hands (otherwise I'll spoil it!) ... it's more creepy than scary, but half of that is down to the stop-motion puppets ...

It's NOT related to the Go Cat (or whatever it was) cats with opposable thumbs advert Grin

VideoEtTaceo · 26/03/2014 18:54

I watched it at the weekend, and was fine until that night when I had to keep my light on until 4am!

Yoghurty · 26/03/2014 18:59

If you like horror shorts, search 'bedfellows' on YouTube by Drew Daywalt. GrinGrinGrinGrin

MyChemicalGerard · 26/03/2014 19:06

Oh God- the puppet adaptation of 'the nose' by Gogol is the creepiest thing ever.

GimmeDaBoobehz · 27/03/2014 17:41

Oh no, I'm not watching it if it has puppets in.

Serial killers? Sure
Murderous big blobs? Hahahha
An axe that kills people by itself? Cool.

Give me anything doll/dummy/puppetty and I'll freeze with fear. It's bizarre I know but eh...
PM me the plot? I can be freaked out in thought only!

GimmeDaBoobehz · 27/03/2014 17:43

I think I could watch Bedfellows, what's this one then?

GimmeDaBoobehz · 27/03/2014 17:44

here for creepy short films

your welcome.

is bedfellows a jumpy one...

some creep is laying in bed next to her, isn't he?

neurotic

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/03/2014 21:16

I watched 'Bedfellows' WITH the sound on Grin

Mwah Ha Ha .......................

Worryingwombat · 27/03/2014 21:31

You're all brave, my imagination is a scary thing on it's own, the nightmares I get without watching horror are bad enough.

It used to be my favourite genre of book and film too. But years and years of nightmares, followed by discovering I get sleep paralysis when I sleep on my back... I still have that curiosity and want to watch it or read it... I'm just not sure it's worth it on my own, in bed, in the middle of the night.

I happen to be very good at writing horror/suspense shorts now though. Wrote a quick one for my English Teacher in my Access Course who has numerous shorts published (funded her university years with it) and she told me it was publishable as it was.

Doing the research to write it full time though, I think I'd petrify myself.
