Darling Benedict, I still love you but oh my God, Matthew McConaughey in True Detective. His cold, icy cheekbones of sex. AND in a white vest. Why didn't I see it before?? Now I want to watch everything he's ever done. He's mesmerising in this. Sorry again, Benedict, it will be ok again between us when I sit down to watch my Sherlock box-set, I promise.

Squoosh I think that's part of the surprise though. He never ever did it for me before either. It's just his portrayal of this character who is not at all plasticky & Hollywood - makes me just want to warm up his icy...erm, heart Grin

Plus I'm a sucker for a good pair of pecs and nicely muscled arms. Can't say I've paid particular attention to his teeth but you've made me curious now!

CassCade · 23/03/2014 12:50

truffle, I really laughed at that. But you know he was dirty-texting me at the time, don't you?! Grin

Is that really honestly true about the pram???? I would not have been able to speak. Only go red and drool. Never met anyone famous apart from HRH Princess Anne. And I definitely don't fancy her.

Vince, keep in touch, re: TD and the book. I too, have no one to discuss it with, except DP and I can't really discuss MM with him. Well, I do, but not so pantingly.

squoosh, are you watching True Detective? Watch it and then decide!!! Before TD I wouldn't have rated MM in any way, at all, really. Now - he is something else!!

I can honestly say that True Detective is the best TV show I've ever watched. It is properly awesome.

But, it's over.

CassCade · 23/03/2014 12:56

orange, just seen what you've written. That is EXACTLY how I feel. Are we actually psychic twins? ;)

Got to go and make lunch now. Ho hum, reality always spoils everything! Laters, everyone! Xxx

Yes, he helped me with the pram. It was about 10 years ago.

I'm in the UK - but I've seen the finale (rubs hands deviously). I won't give anything away.

OnlyLovers · 23/03/2014 13:03

YANBU. People come and people go. Cumberbatch will be devastated, naturally, but what are you going to do?

The Cumberbatch has faded into the background for me slightly, too, with the advent of my Monumental Tom Hiddleston Crushola. Again, I know he's gutted. What can I say?

NinetyNinePercentTroll · 23/03/2014 13:07

We were having a good, filthy, perv at him over here

Orangeisthenewbanana · 23/03/2014 13:30

Cass We may indeed be ;)

Can't believe there's only 3 more episodes for us to see here in the UK Sad

Will have to check out those other books by Nic Pizzolatto though.

Just to remind you what you are giving up.

More for (me) us

Gossipyfishwife · 23/03/2014 19:18

In view of all this dumping I just want to assure Idris of my constant love and affection.

Don't worry Idris, you have nothing to fear.

LumpySpacePrincessOhMyGlob · 23/03/2014 19:48

K...earlier I watched an episode of Sherlock and I'm about to watch the first episode of True Detective. All in the interest of scientific research of course.

I will get back to you.

honeycrest · 23/03/2014 19:56

He is still a little skinny in true detective. I think he filmed it right after Dallas buyers club. He has a gaunt look that I'm not keen on. Still would though obviously!

Oh and I'm in the US so I've seen them all and know what happens Wink

outforawalkbitch · 23/03/2014 19:57

Who here fancies old Rust? I'm on the fence.

LumpySpacePrincessOhMyGlob · 23/03/2014 21:07

He's hawt, but Benedicts hawter. Grin

Great series though, just started ep. 2.

I'm back! Hey, hang on, Lumpy, I didn't say I was giving him up... I'll be having him back later. Also dancesinpuddles did get her claim in first, so there is a waiting list. Grin. Thanks for that picture, though. Wow. Having some second thoughts... a bit. So fickle.
You will love both Sherlock and True Detective. Both very different but very cleverly done. Both fantastic, basically.

Gossipy, There is something about Idris (did you see him on Graham Norton?) but he is safe with you.

Honey, who wouldn't?? And please don't spill the beans!!! :)

Out, no to old Rust. Don't like the bedraggledey-ness. With a shave and a hair cut though, mmmm. Still got the cold hard stare.

CassCade · 23/03/2014 21:28

Lumpy, where are you getting these pictures from?? And are you likin' those episodes? We are currently watching last night's again. (episode 5) ... Rust all muscley and sweaty with a big gun. It's the slow motion and the arms rather than the big gun but need I say more?

outforawalkbitch · 23/03/2014 21:51

I think it's the accent. It does something to me.

CassCade · 23/03/2014 22:17

That too, Out.

Just finished episode 3, watching 4 tonight.

It's soooooo good. He is hypnotic isn't he but I still say...

All Hail The Cumberlord

Love Woody but he's a bit of a misogynistic cock in this, kinda a turn off. Grin
