Mini monkey decided she didn't want a nappy on a couple of weeks ago. Couple of accidents during the first week but dry on a night since she asked for it to be taken off!

Ds was 2.7 for day and 3.7 for night. Sorry don't want to bore my friends anymore because but I am super proud of her

Is it absolutely necessary to ruin a proud mummy moment? Why not just let her have it?

JackShit · 22/03/2014 18:31

Whoopie fuckin' doo OPHmm

squoosh · 22/03/2014 18:31

OP the title of your thread should have read 'Please come piss on my chips'.

catkind · 22/03/2014 18:31

OP's child has decided she wants to achieve something, persevered when it didn't always go right, and achieved her aim. That's something to be proud of in my book!

Cigarettesandsmirnoff · 22/03/2014 18:40

Well some one needs to send that memo round to my cousins arethere as her nearly four year old shits outside so the dog can eat it and wipes his arse on the drain pipe.

I kid ye not. Tis grim!

Cigarettesandsmirnoff · 22/03/2014 18:42

quint I would be fecking proud too! they sound lush!

Bowlersarm · 22/03/2014 18:49

This is AIBU!

Posters are allowed to say the OP is being unreasonable.

If AIBU was clogged up with threads stating

My 2.3 slept through the night! So proud.
My 0.7 crawled! So proud.
My 11yo baked savoury muffins! So proud. (Where was your thread, Quint?)
My 16 yo got an A in English!

Etc, etc, etc,

Is not even pfb, which may be a little more understandable.

Lovely moment for the OP but to start a thread in AIBU...expect some unreasonable replies.

Slainte · 22/03/2014 19:06

Well said Bowlersarm

Bowlersarm · 22/03/2014 19:10

Thank you Slainte, I think that may be the kindest comment I get Grin

Actimaladdict · 22/03/2014 19:14

Ha ha ha

Bluestocking · 22/03/2014 19:21

Am I the only one who got Fanjo's little joke about the wee milestones? I was a lot more concerned about the poo milestones.

FiscalCliffRocksThisTown · 22/03/2014 19:26

I commented on that too, thought it was funny

Quinteszilla · 22/03/2014 19:26

Bowlersarm, my thread was started last night after a significant amount of wine Grin but was more a cooking lament than a boast, as by then he had not baked any muffins, he just took charge today, and no, I did not post about it. Maybe I should have?

ikeaismylocal · 22/03/2014 19:31

I now have a craving for goats cheese and rosemery muffins. Ds is only 15 months old so unable to bake me any not pleased

elvislives2012 · 22/03/2014 19:33

That's great! You're right to feel pleased and try to ignore the crappy remarks on here Grin

MarianneM · 22/03/2014 19:37

YANBU!

It is astonishing how miserable and jealous people can be - even dictating the exact level of pride the OP is allowed to feel!

Well done mini monkey!!!

P.S. I was also very proud of my DDs who were dry at a similar age - and amazed at DD2 who never even had an accident at night once she was out of nappies!

monkeysox · 22/03/2014 23:10

Catkind that was my thinking, thanks :-)

OP posts:
pixiepotter · 23/03/2014 11:20

She is not saying 'I am pleased my kids is potty trained at....'

she is asking if she is being reasonable to be superproud

IdkickJilliansAss · 23/03/2014 11:26

I'd be pleased but not proud, having enough vasopressin to achieve night time bladder control is not an achievement it is biology

Fifyfomum · 23/03/2014 11:31

my boy is 3.8 and still in nappies full time. He is just not quite ready yet unfortunately.

But when he is dry I will be so proud of him, whether that is when he is 4 or 5 or even tomorrow! Be proud of your baby and don't let anyone tell you not to be.

happyyonisleepyyoni · 23/03/2014 11:32

Well done OPs mini monkey and lucky you OP. My DD is 3.0, and it only took her a few days to be dry in the day and after a week she also decided nappies were for babies and has been dry at night ever since. it's been much easier than I thought it might be, but she is still a nightmare when it comes to sleeping...

IdkickJilliansAss · 23/03/2014 11:34

My DD was 2 when she became dry, that wasn't early enough for my DM and MIL!

LST · 23/03/2014 11:36

Ds has been dry in the day since the week before his 2nd birthday. It will be yonks before he is dry at night though. Not that I am bothered at all. I struggled with getting up for a wee in the night. They will do it in time.

x2boys · 23/03/2014 11:38

i.m incredibly proud of my three year old four in two months who is autistic and mainly non verbal and is finally getting the hang of toilet training it will be a while before he is out of nappies completely but we are getting there why are people so mean?
