Do you feel like housework is never ending.

I don't know how friends and family I visit homes look so clean and tidy, where mine is always messy and disorganised.

I tend to spend an hour or two a day just keeping on top of the house work, but come the evening it looks like I have done nothing.

Flylady? YABU! I was dreaming about shiny bloody sinks!

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 20/03/2014 19:16

Tidy....generally always is but there is one child and no men in this house, apart from the dog :)

ILoveWooly · 20/03/2014 19:21

Tidy, dishes done (but still to be put away), everywhere hovered/moped except for the kitchen floor but DH will do that before bed Grin. I on the other hand look messy/scruffy etc and need a bath, nails painted and bed!

drnoitall · 20/03/2014 19:21

Spotless thanks to dd ironing. Ds hoovering, 2x dd out and ds sleep. Oh and dh at work.
We have friends over tomorrow. Otherwise it's a tip usually.

LumpySpacePrincessOhMyGlob · 20/03/2014 19:27

House is lovely at the mo, all tidied for the evening. Smile

JulietBravoJuliet · 20/03/2014 19:30

I've vacuumed and mopped.

There's a mountain of clean, dry, folded washing on the kitchen table which needs putting away, but that's my most hated job.

There's pots in the sink, but we've not long eaten and I'll wash them once ds is in bed.

Ds's bedroom is relatively tidy, as he doesn't do much in there apart from sleep, but it need to have a good old sort out in there at some point as it tends to be a dumping ground for stuff which doesn't really have a home, due to having loads of wardrobe space and him not having that many clothes!

My bedroom is ok I guess, but need to have a sort out in there as well!

Bathroom is clean and tidy; bath was rinsed out after I had a shower this morning, sink and toilet seat have had a cursory wipe over, and I chucked some bleach down the loo earlier.

Overall, it's clean, but not as tidy as I would like. I seem to have lost a lot of my get up and go since I had my head injury at new year, but I'm sure it'll come back one day hopefully!

Grumpasaurus · 20/03/2014 19:32

Mine is a nightmare. We are moving and everything is everywhere. I hate it, as I am normally very clean*

*absolutely, totally, and completely anal

behindthetimes · 20/03/2014 19:33

Half spotless and half a disaster area, as we've all been ill the last few days and I'm half way through repairing the damage! I'm always mystified why people with busier lives and more kids than me have spotless houses, as soon as I can afford it I'm getting a cleaner!

LifeisFuckingGreat · 20/03/2014 19:36

The house is tidy as we have guests arriving tomorrow but the garden looks terrible, full of dog shit and knee length grass - I'm so ashamed!

Latara · 20/03/2014 19:40

It's 'comfortably lived in'... not very tidy but quite clean.

DameFanny · 20/03/2014 19:41

Sitting room covered in sewing clutter I haven't put away yet, kitchen supper clutter ditto. Otherwise the rest of the house is ok, apart from the fringe of boxes and crap sitting round DH's desk against the day he sorts through and puts away. It's been 9 years, I'm not holding my breath.

PasswordProtected · 20/03/2014 19:43

It took me nearly 3 hours to get home this evening. The distance is 75 km.
I live alone, the house us quiet.

Fathertedfan · 20/03/2014 19:44

Clean and tidy because my children have grow up and left home. But covered in dog hair as usual.

gordyslovesheep · 20/03/2014 19:53

tidy and clean - Thursday is cleaning day! - 3 kids, single parent, pt work

if I didn't cleaning thoroughly twice a week (sunday/Thursday) and tidy every night it would be a pit

but if I do that it is easy to clean and keep tidy - takes me about 3 hours

HadABadDay2014 · 20/03/2014 20:13

So I take it my house will be messy until the kids move out stay tidy for a bit unless my DC decide to have children of their own and the grandchildren visit

A mess!! One dd, single parent and working ft! Dd has some sleep issues so averages 5 hours a night. I am attempting a quick tidy tonight, and need to bake buns for dds school tomorrow and do some stuff for work! I find it hard to balance everything!

ShoeWhore · 20/03/2014 20:35

Bit of a tip as usual here!

MomOfTwoGirls2 · 20/03/2014 20:47

Not too bad. Had cleaners here last Fri, but no longer is that tidy, especially kitchen area. Pots left out drying, stuff accumulating on counter tops again.

Will have a lived in look until cleaner come back next week.

HadABadDay2014 · 20/03/2014 20:58

I don't even mind housework, it just feels like an uphill struggle.

Cleans the bathroom then DH decides he need a bath and a shave ~ bathroom is a mess

Dinner needs to be done ~ kitchen a mess.

Living room ~ DC decides to bring toys do was well as messing up the bedrooms in the process.

Then it's the endless washing drying and putting the clothes away ( I only iron as and when needed)

Can't remember the last time the cooker got cleaned ( may treat myself to having it done professionally)

In boxes. We're moving. WAY too much clutter but we've sold loads too, so I quite like it all. The rooms seem a lot bigger without most of the furniture and so on Smile

ThePinkOcelot · 20/03/2014 20:59

Its a bloody tip! Sick of it!

Doshusallie · 20/03/2014 21:04

My house is immaculate. Hope this helps.

Edenviolet · 20/03/2014 21:06

My house is a tip. Need to do lots of washing, neaten up, clean kitchen etc. I never manage to get it looking how I'd like it to.

melika · 20/03/2014 21:06

I AM SICK OF CLEANING.
