I'm not, don't know why I'm asking really.

Best thing about baked beans is they come in a tin. They can keep for ever. No need to consume them at all.
Off for my salad now.

Mintyy · 18/03/2014 20:33

Oh cripes, I am finding this slightly hard to bear.

Salad and baked beans (hot or cold) is so sooooooo completely and utterly wrong.

And coleslaw and beans is wronger.

Goats do indeed smell of goats cheese. But goats cheese is still one million times more appetising than baked beans and salad together.

Imvho.

Goats cheese tastes like the smell of goats though, it is foul.

My DS1 was taken to a french goat farm on a school trip he has never recovered from being force fed a lump of the disgusting cheese.

Goats cheese and aubergines are two of the main reasons I stopped being totally veggie. Apparently every restaurant thinks if you don't want meat, you want one of these, yuck, yuck yuck.

Foxsticks · 18/03/2014 20:43

Mayo, coleslaw, salad cream and goats cheese are all the work of the devil. I won't allow them in my house.

I just finished my jacket potato dinner and it was delicious. Sadly it did not come with beans or salad.

iwouldgoouttonight · 18/03/2014 20:43

Goats cheese tastes like feet.

Not in a good way.

Wrong, wrong, wronger than wrong, as is beans or tomatoes touching egg.

eyestightshut · 18/03/2014 20:45

WTF is a trussed tomato?? Has it got a hernia??

floradora · 18/03/2014 20:47

awww you have made me think of my lovely lovely grandmother who swore by a salad, often with a spoonful of cold baked beans as a key ingredient. She lived to be a 103 so she was not daft. (I can't bear them, hot or cold though)

zipzap · 18/03/2014 20:47

He abomination is having baked beans on the plate at all. They should remain in the tin. Forever.

Mintyy · 18/03/2014 20:48

What did you have on your potato then Foxy?

Grilled goats cheese is okayish.

I got embroiled in a long thread on Mumsnet once about the unacceptability of having fish with cheese.

All the weirdos came running out to defend the tuna melt pannini. Have never forgotten or forgiven.

Salad shouldn't be on the same plate as anything that is hot IMO.

MamaPain · 18/03/2014 20:52

Fuck me, you are a rotter Mintyy. First of all the beans and coleslaw and now my beloved Tuna Melt (with olives, I like the posh nosh me), are you genuinely saying fish and cheese is never acceptable?

iwouldgoouttonight · 18/03/2014 20:52

Grin Bean wee.

I don't like anything in a separate pot. I don't even like it when curry comes out on separate little silver platters. Just bung it all on my plate and don't create washing up for yourself.

God - don't you hate it when mumsnet falls offline in the middle of an important beans/salad debate.

I had chilli, cheese and sweetcorn. I nearly exploded my potatoes by not pricking them but thanks to the wisdom of mumsnet I was persuaded to get off the sofa and prick them.

Fish and cheese is also wrong.

Trussed tomatoes brings forth images of handcuffs and bondage - the seedy side of salad goods.

NearTheWindymill · 18/03/2014 21:14

Bed of spinach, haddock fillets, top with cheese sauce, sizzle in the oven and serve with proper deep fried chips. Heaven on a plate Smile

motherinferior · 18/03/2014 21:15

Or indeed bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon. A classic for good reason.

motherinferior · 18/03/2014 21:16

Or a really good fish pie...

ilovedogsandcats · 18/03/2014 21:27

Lovely with baked potato and a bit of coleslaw
