This is definitely a case for sending someone a link to this thread. Grin

Who is the controller of Radio 2?

Although he/she is probably at home with fingers in ears as we speak.

slartybartfast · 16/03/2014 14:30

feel free to send someone a link Grin >

Normalisavariantofcrazy · 16/03/2014 14:31

I like the concept of her show but I can't abide her, nor can I stand Liza friggin tarbuck

I'm loving Patrick Kielty in for Steve wright!

slartybartfast · 16/03/2014 14:32

no, have gone off liza tarbuck too, with her mock sultry or whateveryoucall it voice, and her laugh
grim

Thought Zoe ball quite ok and Alan Carr and Melanie Sykes was a iOS sat night show.

Pickofthepops · 16/03/2014 14:35

Mean good not iOS !

Who heard lily Allen yesterday for dermot? A bit childish I thought

slartybartfast · 16/03/2014 14:36

i was going to ask what IOS was code for? Grin

I only heard the advert for Lily Allen. Am afraid the promise of Caitlin Moran made me switch off. Grin

Lilly Allen will be lovely once she grows up

I hope they never replace Desmond carrington. On the odd occasion I'm late from work on a Friday I make myself late enough to catch his show on the drive home.

That's bad isn't it

BlueJean · 16/03/2014 14:40

I love the show and sing along to everything I recognise.

But .That.Laugh.

It makes me feel sick -like someone gargling snot (sorry)

But I cant retune or I will miss Paul O Grady at 5 o clock.

Stokes · 16/03/2014 14:40

Oh I love it, we listen to it on the way home on a Sunday afternoon. Love the cheesy showtunes, and indeed Elaine Paige - she's so absolutely batshit crazy, on another planet, possibly delusional it cracks us up. So entertaining.

The Break A Leg bit is unequivocally awful though.

LauraAshleyDuvetCover · 16/03/2014 14:41

The song that's playing now is just Love Never Dies with different lyrics isn't it? Confused

OrlaNuttin · 16/03/2014 14:44

Oh god that laugh. I bet someone once told her she had an 'infectious giggle' and lo a monster was born...

I love the music but do frequently wonder how long it takes her to write all those letters Smile

Normal I like Desmond too. And FNIMN.

Pickofthepops · 16/03/2014 14:51

Lovely Brian Matthew though

Boredtitlessagain · 16/03/2014 15:37

i cant stand her any day of the week.

drudgewithagrudge · 16/03/2014 15:41

I thought Desmond Carrington was dead. I remember him as a dreamboat doctor in Emergency Ward Ten circa 1960.

I used to like an old boy called Hubert Gregg.

LauraAshleyDuvetCover · 16/03/2014 15:45

No, he's part of that group of 87/88 year olds along with Dick van Dyke and Angela Lansbury who are still going, and everybody thinks they're either younger or dead!

blanchedeveraux · 16/03/2014 15:49

I THOUGHT I liked musical theatre until the EP on Sunday show thoroughly disabused me of this notion. She's got a knack for playing songs that are everything my DH loathes about musicals and make it difficult to persuade him to attend one with me.

I heard Lily Allen in for Dermot yesterday as I was stuck in the car for hours, she was pants.

sussexmum38 · 16/03/2014 15:51

She drives me mad. Her and Liza Tarbuck with 'walkies' and stupid voices to try and cover up for being a crap DJ. Glad I have got that off my chest.

Bunbaker · 16/03/2014 15:55

I don't bother listening to radio 2 on a Sunday any more. EP doesn't laugh, she cackles. I can't stand her.

Johnny Walker is king.
