Ok so i am on a diet - i feel like the dog is in danger of being eaten if he sits down too long!

I am looking at the slimming world website - but i'm really irritated by all the BRANDS! Nearly all their recipes from the "cook from scratch" diet has a tin of Baxters something or other, Jordans cereal etc - why can't they just say - a tin of soup, a generic breakfast cerial - they even specified nestle products..........

Im not going to get on iwht them am i?

Jake, have you tried the Mexican version? Mexican rice, chilli flakes, kidney beans in chilli sauce, 3 eggs & I chop and mix some jalapeños through. It's lovely! You can also add some mature cheddar for your HEA choice.

I love SW. Is not really dieted successfully before bit I lost 3nst

...3 stone of pregnancy weight last year in 5 months and found it easy and normal, healthy food. I used my syns on wine and crisps and only had gains when I went on holiday.
I'll go back to it after I have my baby next month.

I can't praise it enough.

When you're a member you can search their online database for all foods/brands so you can calculate syn values. If you stick to the rules (most of the time) then it works. Cutting back on sugar and fat is just common sense to me.

JakeBullet · 16/03/2014 21:43

There is a Mexican version of curry loaf....Grin, this makes me very happy indeed.

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 17/03/2014 09:22

Actually if you're sensible it doesn't have to be high sugar and you don't have to buy loads of brands. You van have tons of meat, veg, fruit, potatoes, pasta, rice and noodles. You don't HAVE to eat muller lights and laughing cow cheese. It can work v well

LuckyJazz I searched the app store but there was no Easyloss Virtual gastric band app. Is that the correct name ? It sounds good - I would love to try it.

Hi all, I've just been reading a very old thread re Slimming World - I started on Wednesday 25/05/16. Has anyone else just started/restarted and what are your experiences & weight losses to date?

calzone · 28/05/2016 11:25

Milly.....start a new thread.
This is ancient.

Or join us on my long running thread in SW.

I am at target now. Have lost 3st 3lbs.

These sorts don't work log term. If they do it is just for the minority of people.

Calorie count. It works. It's exact and it's easy. If you are honest and don't cheat the weight will come off.

I had to lose two stone for an operation and I did it. Never thought j would but I did and I kept it off. I learnt how to eat as mi h food as I could for the least amount of calories. So for dinner I could have fish potatoes and veg or I could have a 1/4 a pizza. I would be starving an hour after the pizza so I learnt to make good choices. Those choices have stayed with me. Give it a go.

Catmuffin · 28/05/2016 11:35

They give syn values for brands because some people eat brands. You don't have to eat brands. You can easily do everything from scratch and all foods that you can eat freely are simple things like eggs, meat, veg, fruit, potatoes etc.
The diet suits me really well and several people at my group have lost several stone and kept it off. If it doesn't suit you don't do it. Low carbing wouldn't suit me but it suits others so i see no need to sneer at it. Each to their own. The recipes I've used from the site have all been cook from scratch ones. Not seen the ones you mention.

Catmuffin · 28/05/2016 11:37

Oh. Didn't see this was an old thread. I'll never understand why when people find a diet that suits them they feel the need to slag off all other diets and say theirs is the only one that works. Confused
