To think that beauticians should not be employed if they are smokers?

Im a regular customer in the beauty salons.

However wherever i go, beauticians always seem to be smokers.

This results in me smelling really strong stale cigarettes on fingers when im having a facial or eyebrow wax etc.

Even if they wash their hands, smoke smell still remains under their finger nails etc.

Aibu to think that as beauticians touch peoples skin then they should not be employed if they are a smoker?

I hate it but I hate it just as much when you have a treatment after lunch and the beautician smells of hot spices or whatever they have just ate. That makes me boak. Same reason why I won't eat fish etc at work.

I had my eye brows threaded by someone who'd just had a fag - it was grim. YANBU

I was a smoker and I must have stunk but never realised at the time.

YANBU, it sounds very unpleasant.

When I had my DC2, one of the midwives stank of smoke. :( you wouldn't think you'd notice things like that when you're giving birth, but I did! It was grim... So was I BU not to want faggy fingers on my bits or my brand new baby?

The smell of the breath of people who never floss is ten times worse. You can literally smell the rotting food and teeth.

The nursery nurse on the ward was on her break when she was needed to have a quick look at ds as I was convinced he had gone yellow but as it was getting darker the midwives weren't sure and the NN had a lot experience and knowledge of jaundice. She arrived and was stinking of smoke! I was gagging at the smell. It was horrible. I also hate passing nurseries and seeing staff outside puffing away.

Quint I think if you can smell rotting teeth, that person has a bigger problem that not flossing.

Maybe, but if you can see gunk between their teeth, it is easy to think the problem will be solved by a good brush, floss and rinse, and perhaps a visit to a hygienist.

Many a time I had a midwife who leaned over me, stinking of smoke. But you are paying a lot for a treatment so say you want a therapist who doesn't smoke.

I have had a facial and massage when the beautician has not only smelled of her lunch but has also belched all over me, no I have never been back and I was too embarrassed to say anything.

Eewww, that is disgusting. I would have refused to pay!
