I reckon I could make it to the coast to get to the Isle of Man within the hour. It would take time for people to organise defences.

Especially if you come across by small boat rather than the ferry.

DH tells me I have enough food stockpiled in the cupboard for an apocalypse so i think we'll be ok.

So me and the hubs are medieval re-enactors. We come with armour, longbow, arrows, swords a plenty and a working knowledge of siege weaponry. The ideal location for a stronghold in the absence of a plane would be Warwick castle (with it's own fresh water supply and electricity generating water mill) and it's got a walloping great catapult to boot. Anyone wanna grab us on their way past in a stolen canal boat?

All zombie plans are moot unless you have an effective mosquito eradication plan as well. One mosquito bite and you're all corpseyfied.

I won't be able to enthral you with literary tales around the campfire, but I have awesome cun'ry skills - can ride, shoot, fish and track. I already live on a tiny island and have supplies and stashes.

Having watched all the ER seasons at least 7 times I am at the very least now a certified doctor/surgeon who can amputate your leg or remove bullets from your body as per TWD.

I can swordfight, shoot a bow, light and keep an open fire going without the use of firelighters etc (can use a flint and steel), spin, sew, grow veggies, look after livestock, make string out of tree bark, ride and drive horses, train horses. I'll be crap at standing guard though once my glasses have broken/my eyes have got worse. I also can't run for toffee nuts so you won't have to outrun all the zombies; just me.

We do actually need zombie bait so the rest of us can escape.

I also expect self-sacrifice quality from anyone who votes themselves leader.

Manxie, you should be grateful. Anyone resourceful enough to make to your island is probably a good person about to help you defend yourself.
