To think that Desigual clothes are unbelievably ugly?

There's a banner ad on my screen for Desigual clothes - those weird squiggly designs make my head hurt. Their coats always look like the sartorial version of weeping clowns painted on black velvet.

Who in the name of sweet baby Jesus actually wears this stuff?

I love their trainers, colourful and comfy - everything my feet could ask for :)

thenumberseven · 03/03/2014 19:51

One of my daughters in law wears a lot of Desigual. It looks great on her and she gets lots of compliments. They suit her personality
However I can't imagine my other daughter inlaw in those clothes. She's younger and gorgeous but the clothes would not look right on her, would not suit her shape or personality.

I was in Reims last weekend and Disugal have a shop ther.
There was loads of stuff I loved and I'm normally ultra boring.

I love the dress stinkle put up in the link and would love to have it if only my hips weren't as big!

SoleSource · 03/03/2014 20:17

Next is so bland and dull. Ugh,

justwondering72 · 03/03/2014 20:45

It's really popular here in france , mostly among women of a certain age (the 35 to 55 bracket a pp referred to). They often have very purple or orange hair as well. And fancy specs , usually with sparkly bits on the frames.

YANBU op.

I do like their bedding range.

gastrognome · 03/03/2014 21:15

I don't like everything in their range, but I do have quite a few bits and pieces. Dresses and skirts are lovely, really nicely cut and flattering. The skirts especially have a nice thick waistband and sit perfectly just above hips with zero muffin top. And the dresses I have hit the right note between dressed up and dressed down, which I like. I always get compliments when I wear them.

Their bags are lovely too, though quality has gone down recently.

I'm not so keen on their tops, shirts, trousers and coats. And am never going to be a fan of anything with an asymmetric hem.

elQuintoConyo · 03/03/2014 21:24

Far more interesting than a fucking breton stripe, or a buggery bollocks skinny jean, or a arse-achingly awful lbd

I love Desigual. But I love Skunk funk more
Grin

ShimmeringInTheSun · 03/03/2014 21:30

Wow!
This is the first time I've ever come across this clothing range and I absolutely love it. hurls M and S clothing out of the window

MissPlumBroughtALadder · 03/03/2014 21:39

I quite like their stuff but I have a question:
How do you pronounce Desigual?

Balaboosta · 03/03/2014 21:43

Yanbu. Awful. I have quite artistic and adventurous taste in clothes but these are just insulting.

theeternalstudent · 03/03/2014 21:44

Miss Plum you pronounce it as "dis-egwal"
I love the stuff. Too expensive for me. Guess I must be fugly!

thenightsky · 03/03/2014 21:58

^ this.

I've got a few summer lightweight skirts that I've worn and worn for about 8 years now. Always get compliments on them. They are not pattern though, plain, good quality cotton with lots of pin tucks, pleats and buttons. All very flattering.

winklewoman · 03/03/2014 22:25

I love it! But lisac99 is so right about the sizes, 16 = XL? Ridiculous. I have got a couple of their more capacious tunics and am always complimented when I wear them.

Stinklebell · 03/03/2014 23:04

I keep going back to that flippin' dress

More than £100 is beyond unreasonable, right? help me PLEASE

elQuintoConyo · 04/03/2014 13:49

I, too, have an artistic and adventurous taste in clothes and I don't find them "insulting" - wtf does that mean? In which case I find f uggs insulting. And anything Per Una.

I actually find Desigual a bit "FU, fashion" which is partly why I like it. It's not for those who balk at the horror of wearing stripes AND flowers Grin

kentishgirl · 06/03/2014 16:53

Some I really like. Could be because I'm from the Rave generation, lol.
