these

I hope the link works as I'm on my phone.

I bought them because I really liked them, but haven't got a fecking clue whether they acceptable without a long top.

They are denim look and much thicker than ordinary leggings.

I'm an 8-10 and cover my arse in leggings at all times.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 03/03/2014 20:24

I dunno OP I think they look more like jeggings. Agree in general about no leggings with short tops but not sure if that's the case for jeggings.

IwinIwin · 03/03/2014 20:32

I wouldn't do it personally, just make sure that you check for camel toe, hungry bum and see thoroughness before you go out.

pyjamaramadrama · 03/03/2014 21:42

What is hungry bum?

pyjamaramadrama , you're arse starts chewing on your leggings, sucking them in. Bit of a fashion disaster, good images can show examples like this one: fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/1525363_604039882978440_805527746_n.jpg

your* even

Minnieisthedevilmouse · 03/03/2014 22:16

Look, you sound nice, and I'm sure you're attractive too. I cannot fathom why you are letting mn dictate your dress. There's a big demographic on here but it ain't known for fashion is it? This lot are far to into rules. Far to into judgy comments and far too up tight on ridiculous things.

You are young. You are slim. If you want to wear it with a wet look bandeau / visor/ driving gloves and bling with mesh cut out heels or a Rolling Stones t shirt and dm's then do.

Just be you. Betcha look great x

HaroldLloyd · 03/03/2014 22:19

Yep thats it. Your bum gets so hungry it has to eat your trousers. bad bad look.

HaroldLloyd · 03/03/2014 22:21

I am more than happy to follow the roolz which stop me going out of the house with my leggings eating my arse.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/03/2014 22:38

It is always unreasonable to wear leggings with your arse hanging out. Whatever size you are.

HaroldLloyd · 03/03/2014 23:16

One must always cover ones bum with a Boden tunic.

CynicalandSmug · 03/03/2014 23:42

What Minnie said.

thecatneuterer · 03/03/2014 23:45

Indeed - what Minnie said. I couldn't agree more.

sashh · 04/03/2014 06:04

Leggings with a short top are never a good look, unless you are at the gym.

Or under the age of 6, I do think small children can get away with it, just.

georgesdino · 04/03/2014 06:15

I agree with minnie. A lot of people on here dress like my mum and shes 60.

PotatoPolly · 04/03/2014 06:19

leggings are not a replacement for trousers, they should be worn the same as tights (especially as must leggings are as thin as tights)

Please spare us all and wear a long top!

georgesdino · 04/03/2014 06:29

None of my leggings are see through as they are really expensive. Not all leggings are of the same standard. Buy them from the celeb mags

ISeeYouShiverWithAntici · 04/03/2014 07:28

she's only asking people what they think. Which was her choice. I assume that she asked the question because she was interested to hear the answers.

She's not legally bound to adhere to the result. She can wear whatever the hell she likes and she knows it. But she came on here to ask what people thought. And people told her. What she chooses to do with that information is up to her. Why are you agitated about the choice that she made to ask and the choice others made to reply?

And where can I get one of those special screens that give me the ability to see through into your houses to see what you all wear? I want one of those buggers! I'd stalk the crap out of the lot of you.

Skivvywoman · 04/03/2014 08:38

I've got the same ones and also got them in blue,I wear a long teeshirt with them,
They are extremely comfy though but get the size smaller as they are big made

ConfusedDotty · 04/03/2014 08:49

No, no no, never. My DP was traumatised this morning whilst popping into Sainsburys, when I asked what was wrong, he told me he has just seen the biggest camel toe ever whilst looking for the eggs, ha ha, rank. I thought he was actually going to puke and ring in sick for work. He asked me never ever to wear anything like that (which I don't/wouldn't) and I am a size 4/6.

IMO just because they fit dosen't mean you should wear them in public, after all leggings fit everyone a bit like cling film.

Burren · 04/03/2014 08:59

It's not a thickness thing, it's a clinginess thing. It's like being naked from the waist down, but painted grey.

My sister did a mass naked bike ride for charity a few years back, where people wore just thongs and body paint, and their lower halves looked much the same as people wearing leggings.

Burren · 04/03/2014 09:01

But obviously, go for it if you want! It's a free world! And I do still possess a cerise batwing tee shirt from the eighties...
