these

I hope the link works as I'm on my phone.

I bought them because I really liked them, but haven't got a fecking clue whether they acceptable without a long top.

They are denim look and much thicker than ordinary leggings.

I have no bum and I would cover unless they had pockets.

Though those aren't sheer so I don't think YABU

Pigletin · 03/03/2014 15:03

It depends on what your bum looks like, but in any case your best bet is to find a nice long top or cardigan to wear on top.

bluntasabullet · 03/03/2014 15:08

You really do need a long top, people don't want to see your camel toe crotch

thecatneuterer · 03/03/2014 15:24

I would. They look more like jeggings than leggings. As long as they aren't see-through at all then I can't see the problem.

Nancy66 · 03/03/2014 15:27

No, won't look good at all no matter how young/slim you are.

BigW · 03/03/2014 15:29

Never EVER ok.

enormouse · 03/03/2014 15:47

No, I wouldn't. They aren't jeans/jeggings like enough to be able to get away with it.

whattodoforthebest2 · 03/03/2014 15:52

There are lots of pretty, sheer, longish blouses in the shops now, which could be an in-between solution?

pyjamaramadrama · 03/03/2014 18:41

Well my bum is definitely nothing special but definitely not awful either, although either way I've always thought absolutely no leggings with short tops.

I wasn't sure if these crossed the line into almost jeggings, they are thicker than they look into the picture, but I definitely won't be risking it now.

Oh for Pete's sake. A bunch of people u never met is better than any one in your RL? Go with RL opinion not this lot most of often don't have a very fashionable taste (boden anyone?) or it's one very fixed (the amount of "mummy dressing" threads is beyond a joke).

Seriously. You sound a decent figure in your words so go for it if you like your look. If I was your size and I liked my outfit I would wear it and fuck everyone else!

Minnieisthedevilmouse · 03/03/2014 18:52

Finally got link to work.

Definitely would with a black vest and cropped logo jumper and wedge trainers. A la 90's style.

chocolatecaramel · 03/03/2014 18:54

I wear leggings with whatever top I want, sorry! No one has complained yet.

Sparklysilversequins · 03/03/2014 18:55

The only person I know who could get away with that is dd, she's 8.

georgesdino · 03/03/2014 18:56

I wear leggings all the time, and suit them. Only you or people in rl will know if you do.

Glitterfeet · 03/03/2014 18:57

I think even if they're thick, or jeggings it'd be good to have something to break up the line. That colour and pattern would make a small, pert bum look bigger. As someone suggested, a floaty, sheer blouse could work.

georgesdino · 03/03/2014 18:58

Celebritys do it all the time, and its always in magazines. I think its a great look if you have a good figure.

MissSmiley · 03/03/2014 19:02

I think the material looks more skinny jeans than leggings. I'd say ok to show bottom as long as fabric not really thin.

pyjamaramadrama · 03/03/2014 19:22

Minnie trouble is I'd be worried that people in rl would say they looked ok just to be kind.

I have a boyfriend who thought that they were 'posh joggers', so not much hope here.

georgesdino · 03/03/2014 19:23

I prefer celeb style really sleek leggings or jeggings in rl.

MissSmiley · 03/03/2014 19:40

The only way to tell is to post a pic of your bum in said jeans and we'll tell you the verdict :-)

pyjamaramadrama · 03/03/2014 20:05

Absolutely no pics of my bum thank you very much Wink

Leggings aside though, is there anything wrong with a big bum? I quite like a sticky out bum.

LizLemonOut · 03/03/2014 20:08

I'm a 10, wouldn't wear bottom out leggings in a million years. Never did as a size 8 either. But its your bottom :)

Hercy · 03/03/2014 20:16

I would wear whatever top I wanted with them.

If they were cheap/a size or two too small (so you get the sheer, pants showing effect), it would be a different matter. But they don't look that cheap and thin material and I doubt you're buying too small and you sound like you have a nice figure, so why not?

turningvioletviolet · 03/03/2014 20:18

Leggings should never be worn by anyone over the age of 18. Ever. End of. I had the misfortune to stand behind someone in a queue on Saturday - bottom out sheer black leggings with thing fully on display. She was far from slim and pert bottomed. It was a travesty if I'm honest and only reinforced my view.

turningvioletviolet · 03/03/2014 20:19

*thong not thing. Although her thing was probably on display too.
