AIBU to expect my 10yr old to clean up toilet messes?

My 10 year old son is perfectly capable of using loo roll to wipe his backside, so I consider he should also be expected to use a small wodge of loo roll to wipe down any excess detritus that he may leave spread down the side of the toilet bowl when he hasn't been bothered to sit on the seat straight. I don't expect him to start flinging chemicals round, or expect it to be perfectly spotless, but is it unreasonable for him to make some effort? His father thinks that it's unhygienic as he may not wash his hands properly, whereas I argue there is no more (potential) exposure to fecal matter than wiping his bum.

Disposable wipes of all descriptions are causing massive problems if they are flushed down the loo;

So you don't use a loo brush because the people who you live with are too disgusting to use one properly- those people who are so disgusting that they think it's OK to leave their shit in the loo for someone else to clean up.

Right. See what's going on there?

YANBU to want him to clean his dirt off the toilet.

YABU to expect him to do it without the appropriate tools and expose his hands to residues of the rest of the family's bodily wastes that have been deposited since its last deep clean. A toilet brush is no less dirty than emptying a bin of waste wipes/ gloves/ cloths. Toilet roll is inadequate for the job and will just smear the dirt thinly around the bowl, and disintegrates easily.

but you are bu on the loo brush front.
if you expect someone else to clean the loo you need to provide the tools.
