To find the beard quiff thing that most men are sporting at the moment utterly bizarre?

I know taste is a very subjective thing but I just can't understand this look that most guys between the ages of 20 and 35 are rocking at the moment. I get that it's "trendy" but do any women actually find it attractive?

we were just saying that the other day in the office I work in - the late thirties/early forties people were starting incredulously over at a group of 20 somethings/early 30's, all of whom had quiffy hair, beards and jumpers (all men in my office). They all also had, to a man, Christmas jumpers on throughout December too - another strange, recent phenomenom that we are all too old and decrepid to understand.

Cocolepew

Why is it I am not particularly fond of beards, or tattoos, but there is something... nice about your link! Blush

Rollergirl1 · 22/02/2014 18:11

One of the pictures in the link Cocolepew posted was used in . Quite old now but still makes me laugh out loud.

I love the beard & under cut look. Even better if the man is covered in tattoos too!
Where abouts are those of you who are saying you don't know what it is, I thought it was a popular look across the country.

NotTwit · 22/02/2014 18:25

Thing is, a beard can offer hints of what might be amazing amounts of attractiveness should beard wearer ever choose to unleash his face upon us. Only to reveal they are, in fact, mingers.
Also when they finally shave the beards off their faces go all tight and then sag. This happened to my dad it was fucking hilarious. He grew it back.

Fairylea · 22/02/2014 18:28

Dh has this and I love it :) I am a big fan of hairy men now I'm in my 30s which is odd as when I was younger I couldn't stand any hair apart from on their heads !

OddBoots · 22/02/2014 18:31

Certainly not to my taste but each to their own.

Normalisavariantofcrazy · 22/02/2014 18:58

I love the look.

It wouldn't suit DH though as his jaw is too big strong and it would just make me laugh

MyCatIsFat · 22/02/2014 20:05

I still have no idea what this 'beard quiff' thing actually is Confused

The links just look like normal blokes with normal beards to me.

Can someone please describe what the term 'beard quiff' means?

NotTwit · 22/02/2014 20:11

I think it means the beard is a beard and the hair is quiffed. However it could mean that the beard has been sort of curled up, but this looks reet daft. IMO.

dementedma · 22/02/2014 20:12

The beards are ok but the tattoos hideous!

DarlingGrace · 22/02/2014 20:14

face fur is ghastly.

TeamWill · 22/02/2014 20:14

Ghastly - they look like they have massive ginger pubes on their chins - yuk !

SignoraStronza · 22/02/2014 20:21

Beards, yes (goes wobbly at big, long haired, tattooed, metalhead, biker dh).

'Hipster' beards, teamed with a quiff (basically anything other than a full head of long, flowing hair or shaven scalp) , absolutely not.

Beards are a lifestyle choice, not a passing fashion. Give me the full viking any day.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 22/02/2014 20:24

I love beards (and tattoos)

MamaPingu · 22/02/2014 20:29

I love the look, definitely attractive I love facial hair Grin

NoArmaniNoPunani · 22/02/2014 20:31

If Ricki Hall wasn't so skinny he'd be my ideal man

Mandy2003 · 22/02/2014 20:33

The Toyboy is growing his beard longer at present. I don't know whether to tell him he now looks like Osama bin Laden Sad

Still, he's going to stay with his mum next month so perhaps he'll cut it back then. No sign of a quiff though!

Mandy2003 · 22/02/2014 20:35

This Shock

MyCatIsFat · 22/02/2014 20:38

Vile - utterly vile.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 22/02/2014 20:42

Yeah Mandy, that's a face I'd like to sit on

SinglePringle · 22/02/2014 20:45

I've been following this trend for about 2 years. It started in East London (natch) and goes with a penchant for twiggy beer and a pipe.

I LOVE seeing trends develop & look at model sites such as Models One, Select etc to see how trends change and evolve. The bearded, tatooed, be-quiffed look is definitely mainstream now. But I like it. Not my 'sexual' taste but - despite it being 'Everyman' now, it does allow for individuality. Plus there's some right Herbert's to laugh at!

I bloody love fashion!

Rollergirl1 · 22/02/2014 21:14

I'm sure it started out as an "individual" look but it kind of looses it's uniqueness when 50% of the young male population look exactly the same! Literally no word of a lie, in a normal day today, I think I must have seen about 30 guys all rocking this exact same thing.
