To wonder if socks for babies are a stupid idea?

Whenever my LO wears a romper suit (as usually we only wear onsies with feet and without) and she wears socks I'm forever pulling them up!!!
Is it me or are baby socks unreasonable?
What other unreasonable baby items are there?

Baby socks are totally pointless.

I don't like to use sock ons on little soft baby feet.

What are top and tail bowls and how do they differ from other types of bowl?

I need to know! :o

Haha yes top and tail bowls.
Little bowls with 2 separate sections for washing babies - one for their bums and one for their faces etc.
I used one for DS1 and used to get quite confused!!!

Sock ons.

My SIL puts socks on underneath the babygro. Can't decide if this is brilliant or highly odd.

2 bowls? That's ridiculous.

You're far less likely to wipe your baby's face with arse water if you have just one bowl and do the face first.

Normal socks seem pretty pointless bit nice thick woolen socks are great.

Changing bags I don't really understand - some of them are so damm expensive as well.

Toys that require me to play with them for ds's amusement - wtaf is the point.

Top and tail bowls would have been more useful if there was some difference in the section for the top and the one for the tail, but as they were both the same, they seemed altogether pointless. Agree on baby socks, or bootees for that matter, surely redundant with the introduction of babygros.

Socks that are too tight can be bad for their feet. Socks that are too lose end up off their feet. Socks are stupid.

Mine used to just pull them off and throw them.

Yanbu. Never bothered with socks as they never stayed on until dd started walking. Just used to wrap her feet in a blanket.

Top and tail bowls are brilliant for a whole range of uses around the house. None of them connected with washing faces and bottoms!!

My son never kept socks on until we discovered the aforementioned 'sock one's. He wore them from around months til almost a year - different sizes obviously. They're amazing but also v easy to loose as they're so small....;$

I never tried them but Gap baby socks were recommended to me as being the only baby socks that stay on without sock ons.

I never understood why bulky puffy padded baby jackets and coats are made in sizes for babies less than about nine months old. They are really difficult to put on such a small baby and must make them uncomfortable (as they can't move their arms properly in them) as well as very hot. And don't get me started on thick padded snowsuits... I used cardigans, light jackets, blankets, a car seat footmuff and a bug-in-a-rug fleece wrap thing when DS was young, even though he was born in autumn. All allowed me to control his temperature more easily, were much easier to put on and off and didn't put him in danger in his car seat. (Dressing babies in thick coats and strapping them into their car seat risks them not being properly protected by the car seat harness in the event of an accident.)

Baby socks are work of the devil.

I have bought countless socks and yet only have 2 pairs. I don't know where the rest are languishing/hiding.

I now use tights. Oh the relief.

I can only get H&M socks to work, all others end up as litter if I don't keep my eyes peeled Hmm

Tights are also great if you intend to sling your baby and (like me) you don't always notice that their trousers are getting a bit short Blush

DS2 spent a lot of time muffled up from head to mid-leg and ankle-downwards, with a large chunk of exposed skin in the middle, in late October, before I spotted this..... poor dab no wonder he cried

Fisher Price 3D Slipper socks are great. I can't find a link to anything other than eBay listings I'm afraid.

They are the only thing I have found that keep DS' socks on. Currently in TK Maxx for £1.99 a pair. Can't rate highly enough!
