what you did in your day that would have got you sacked from MN today and potentially a visit from ss

I slept on my tummy, mother smoked when pregnant. .. and my nan thinks asprin is the best thing to give a baby for teething. And rice in my bottle from probably day one to get me off to sleep

Interesting about the X-rays- my mil knew the man who was involved in developing use of ultrasound, and had a very early ultrasound done when preg with my dh (early 70s)

I've got lots of old cookbooks/household management type books and in the 20's and 30's they recommended weaning at 9 months. The 8 week thing is in itself relatively recent.

Of course folk have always used slings. You used to tie the baby/toddler to you using your big tartan shawl. They do similar all over the world. Where do you think the idea of 'slings' came from.
