To think that if the men on The Voice behaved in the same way as Kylie Minogue does there would be complaints?

I'm feeling increasingly uncomfortable about the way 45 year old Kylie is leering at teenage boys on The Voice. That coupled with suggestive comments about spending time together combined with sexy poses and raised eyebrows makes me squirm. Last night she did all of this to the 16 yr old Irish dancer in order to win him over to her team. If Ricky or Sir Tom did the same to 16 yr old girls people would be appalled.

I too find Kylie cringeworthy but not fir the comments but for the flirting, draping herself over the chairs, and just her general behaviour. She is just trying too hard too be coquettish and sexy and it feels ott and forced. She is an attractive woman she could be sexy just by being strong and feisty not by shaking her tits along to songs. Her behaviour with the 16 year old was not age appropriate though.
Ricky is also making my skin crawl leching over all the young females. That look in his eyes is creepy as fuck

Coumarin · 09/02/2014 14:44

Yanbu.

When she asked the boy, 18 I think, to step to one side so she could get a better look at him, I said I wonder how people would feel if that was Tom doing it.

The raised eyebrows, however, I don't think she can do anything but raise them anymore.

Coumarin · 09/02/2014 14:46

Oh and then later on Tom and the other two did do it to a female contestant and it was also creepy. But at least she was older. The whole episode was cringey tbh.

Thetallesttower · 09/02/2014 14:50

Agreed it was cringey. Whoever said that Amanda Holden says 'the girls are going to love you' is right, that's a much nicer thing to say. And them all fawning over that perfectly normal girl with the split dress, isn't the whole point to find a Voice? It was all very strange and mainly led by Kylie who makes a lot of comments on appearance which Jesse J didn't do.

Madamecastafiore · 09/02/2014 15:40

I think Kylie is a big enough artist to have a say in how she is portrayed and if she thought she was being made to look like a sad middle aged creepy desperado would most certainly put a stop to it.

AmIGoingMad · 09/02/2014 15:48

I haven't watched much of this series but did see some of last nights. It was really uncomfortable viewing. Yes I did think that if it was one of the men asking a girl if they could get a better look that people would be outraged. And the pretty blonde waitress section was bordering on harassment!

DownstairsMixUp · 09/02/2014 15:54

She just comes across a bit desperate and attention seeking. The same if a bloke her age would come across if he did it to a 16 year old girl. She's looking good for her age and she's had a big enough career to not have to resort to the way she acted last night. I would of preferred her to have just been a bit more honest and fiesty but it just came across a bit fake.

Chippednailvarnish · 09/02/2014 16:41

Kylie the cradle snatcher Grin !

LetZygonsbeZygons · 09/02/2014 17:53

agree. I donr watch this prog btw but ive never understood how and why Kylies always labelled the girl next door and sweetness when shes as bad in her own way as Miley/Rhianna/Pink etc etc in her videos and performances.

as for what you say shes doing on that programme, well absolutely.

bodygoingsouth · 09/02/2014 17:57

yes I agree Amanda does this well. I wonder if it's because she's a mum and Kylie isn't.

shoppingbagsundereyes · 09/02/2014 18:27

I'll come back and let you all know what the bbc replies to my complaint. I'm supposed to get some kind of response within two weeks.

ComposHat · 09/02/2014 18:31

I think all four of them are as bad as each other, leering over the contestants like pieces of meat. Not on at all.

Never really found Kylie that sexy it all seems a bit put on.

plentyofsoap · 09/02/2014 20:06

I have stopped watching it due to Kylie annoying me. I thought she was more professional than what she is coming across as.

FreudiansSlipper · 09/02/2014 20:40

i do wonder at times is kylie getting into the same music as i can hear

other than that she is ok, she has always been overrated as the pop princess

FreudiansSlipper · 09/02/2014 20:41

but i like her :)

Bakingnovice · 09/02/2014 22:05

Kylie is completely overrated. She's embarrassing. I hate Jessie j too but she was not leery and cringey. This year is rubbish. I mean, the US version gets people like usher, shakira, Christina aguilera. And we get past it kylie and flipping Ricky who hardly anyone knows. Both kylie and Ricky spend the whole time asking Tom and will if they should press the button.

PeriodFeatures · 09/02/2014 22:07

YABU to even watch it IMO!! Terrible television.

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 10/02/2014 00:27

The waitress with the slit dress was attractive, but only in the way that most 21 year old girls in a sexy dress are! Hmm

I agree with the posters complaining about the fact Kyle said 'you have to look at this' to the other judges....I thought it was called The Voice, and the while point was not to judge on looks?! I made this face Confused when Tom Jones said 'It's called The Voice....it's not about how you look... really.'

MargotLovedTom · 10/02/2014 00:37

She's always been a pain in the arse so nowt's changed.

ComposHat · 10/02/2014 01:28

My wife is drooling over Ricky (this has been a long term thing) and was surprised that I didn't fancy Kylie in the slightest.

I just find her really, really dull and a bit of a personality void. I couldn't imagine what you'd find to talk to her about for an evening. Apart from maybe working with Nick Cave.

RunRabbit · 10/02/2014 02:06

I only watched 1 episode. Ricky and Kylies behaviour really put me off.

You can't beat The Voice U.S, really.

Coumarin · 10/02/2014 08:43

I don't think being a Mum means anything in this context Body I'm not a Mum and I could see it was inappropriate behaviour. Not sure I even understand what you mean tbh.

Eliza22 · 11/02/2014 12:37

I was really surprised to find that she irritated me to the point where I just couldn't continue to watch. Kylie comes across as a middle aged woman trying to court the younger generation (WHY? She MUST be loaded!) and really inappropriate. She's done various cosmetic fillers/stuff to her face and that's her business but I just thought she came over too sweet, too sickly and talking a load of tripe. Must be something about that chair..... Jessie J talked over everyone else (no one could get a word in edgeways) and Kylie's the same.

She seems a bit desperate to me. And all that hip grinding, flirting nonsense. Christ's sake Kylie, give it a rest, love.

bicuriousgeorge · 11/02/2014 13:10

It's all very cringey and desperate. The look at me dancing is just awful, embarrassing.

TheSmallPrint · 11/02/2014 13:44

Agree with you OP, she keeps doing it, getting all silly over very young men. Yes, everyone was slightly leering over the blonde woman but even then Kylie was egging it on and acting worse.

We can all appreciate a good looking person but to practically salivate is not nice to watch.

Kylie is a beautiful woman and does not need to look desperate.
