goodnessknows has a scary operation tomorrow, to remove a tumour on her spine. She is feeling a bit panicky, so I thought she might like your supportive messages to encourage her. Here is a link to her thread goodnessknows

Hope you get the results soon. The not knowing must be tough.

Xxx

GoodnessKnows · 01/02/2014 14:45

Guess what I just did!
I walked the length of the corridor and walked to the loo! Washed and dressed myself, too! Pretty much unaided. I'm v proud n pleased.

freakydeaky · 01/02/2014 14:51

Yay! Well done, Goodness, that's great! Onwards and upwards :) xx

livelablove · 01/02/2014 15:45

That's great! So soon.

Take it easy, don't go mad. Xxx

GoodnessKnows · 01/02/2014 21:49

Tried again later n collapsed into commode wheelchair (nearest thing they could grab) and was wheeled back to bed just in time as was about to faint. Hmm
Was thanking stars didn't collapse on floor, catheter and all. This was WITH zimmerframe.
Hmm
So unexpected after my 'long walk' this afternoon.

QOD · 01/02/2014 21:54

Too much too soon!
Rest up chuck x

livelablove · 01/02/2014 21:57

You are doing fine, i was surprised you walked so far at first. I wonder if the second time your painkillers were wearing off? But the fact you can walk is great as this shows you can do it and just need to build strength and for wounds to heal.

On other thread i read nurses were not being that nice. I am Sad to read that. Don't let it get to you. Sending you Wine and Cake

Nope they're scary an reluctant cows tonight. Have awful one from last night - but last night was a good one with her. Tonight she has gd knows what kind of nurse with her. Seriously. Scary shit.
Gotta laugh.. and pray they'll not b here again tomorrow.

livelablove · 01/02/2014 23:41

I remember nurses were like this when I was in hospital having baby. The midwives were lovely to me. I know nurses are busy, but they shouldn't make you feel like you are an inconvenience to them, especially on a high dependency ward. Nevermind you can use them in your book when you write your memoirs. Have some more Cake

Live, made me laugh.
Must are ok but forget thjngs (like to turn the leg pumps ON), bug the stroppy ones... My gd!

GoodnessKnows · 02/02/2014 23:30

Still on hospital. Walked today - up n down corridor. Get meeeee! Smile

I'm expecting results any day this week - from tomorrow. Absolutely terrified. Highly anxious. Might help my low blood pressure though. Lol
Either low grade sarcoma (cancer) unlikely of further treatment or care but would be monitored for regrowth.
Or
Bastard aggressive type of benign tumour calked fibromastitis that re grows commonly as doesn't like to be disturbed and only resounds to high doses of chemo, radiotherapy and cancer-fighting drugs.
Please stand with me and hold my hands. If it's not good news, I dint think I'll be able to handle it. It'll throw everything into the air. Future. My DCs' lives. DH wig recently lost both of his DPs within 3 years. Everything.

BelleOfTheBorstal · 02/02/2014 23:52

Glad to hear the op went well. Boo hiss for scary nurses. I know you want to try and get back to normal as quickly as possible but if you push yourself too hard, your recovery could take even longer! So rest and take it slowly!

BelleOfTheBorstal · 02/02/2014 23:53

And fingers tightly crossed that you get nothing but good news tomorrow xx

ajandjjmum · 02/02/2014 23:58

Thinking of you GoodnessKnows - hope the results are as good as they can be.

GoodnessKnows · 03/02/2014 05:37

Just woken up mid-nightmare of being given bad news by smiley 'minimising don't scare patient' surgeon.

Trance · 03/02/2014 05:57

It's only a bad dream, sometimes dreams mean the opposite of real life. Hoping its positive news for you
X

GoodnessKnows · 03/02/2014 08:04

That's so true and I'm usually wrong about things (where I've parked my car, the answer to most quiz questions, what'll happen in the future) so I hope you're right.

GoodnessKnows · 05/02/2014 22:35

I am home Grin

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 05/02/2014 22:57

Hooray Grin

Don't be tempted to do too much now that you're out of hospital.

Xxx

GoodnessKnows · 06/02/2014 08:12

After one helluvastressfuk 'homecoming', I slept until 6.30am. Thank gd the drugs work. Just need to make sure the wrongly written letter to doc is adjusted and that the right quantities are prescribed now!

GoodnessKnows · 07/02/2014 18:58

Just got The Call
Low Grade Sarcoma

Telling you (all) first.

Crying now with relief.

This is good
Never ever did I think that I'd be grateful to be told I have cancer.

Because I don't.
It's low grade
Margins are clear (they got the whole thing out)

I need to be monitored. Not the end but could've been worse.

(Still crying)

But it's not the bastard benign type that needs chemo, radiotherapy, cancer drugs by the truck load as it's so aggressive and pretty much always comes back.

It also means I'll have support. Macmillan for a start.
I'm with the centre of excellence for these rarer cancers. My doctor was thrilled to have his first 'case'.
Lol

I'm here to please ;)

ProjectGainsborough · 07/02/2014 19:22

Sending good vibes and virtual Cake

NationMcKinley · 07/02/2014 19:30

That is bloody fantastic news! I'm so pleased for you, Goodness Flowers and of course Wine!
