Serious friday night drama in our house:
Brought some 90" drop curtains for the French door in living room which aren't quite long enough.
They come to top if the skirting boards about 4" off floor I think they look ridiculous he disagrees whose is right please?
Curtains should be touching floor no?

Does he wear trousers above his ankles?

Quoteun has a point Shock

OTOH I hate curtains that drape all over the floor. They look daft. Just touching/just above is best. Smile

SaucyJack · 19/01/2014 22:09

YANBU. Add a contrasting colour hem tho and they'll be fine. Especially as they're patterned.

Littlefish · 19/01/2014 22:13

Are they made to measure, or off the peg?

Caitlin17 · 19/01/2014 22:18

I could live with it.

Rowlers · 19/01/2014 22:22

4 inches is too much, I think.
However, I too hate curtains which puddle all over the floor because they are far too long.
When did that look become fashionable? Hate it.

Thants · 19/01/2014 22:22

If it covers all the glass it's fine. Curtains are for blocking out the light.

MsAspreyDiamonds · 19/01/2014 22:46

Sew a panel in a contrasting fabric or return, there is absolutely no way you can keep them as they are. Your husband is being rather silly.

My curtains are about four inches too long and fan out on the floor. I don't care because I can't be arsed with the hassle of altering them. I suspect your dh can't be arsed either but yanbu.

He is right. In bizaro land.

Down to the floor or even pooling on the floor is the only way to go

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 20/01/2014 10:01

can you take down your curtain pole and reposition it a bit lower? let down a hem on the curtains? bend the pole holders to angle down giving a bit more length if you cannot move them or take them back.
