It is freezing in my Sainsburys! It can't be very energy efficient either. Do things really need to be kept that cold?

I always notice it most in M&S Food Halls. Nice during a hot Summer though!

RutaSkadi · 17/01/2014 10:34

Yes, it's freezing! Worse in summer when you go in in a tshirt and have to run around the chilled bit just grabbing things.

RutaSkadi · 17/01/2014 10:36

Bit of a contrary xpost Grin

fluffyraggies · 17/01/2014 10:43

Yep, noticed our Tesco is always like the bloody arctic these days. Particularly hate going round the freezer section with my bloody headlights on full beam!

DH finds it highly amusing, of course.

SPsMrLoverManSHABBA · 17/01/2014 10:44

Yes it is!

I went into Tesco and when I get to the frozen aisle you could hang coats on my nipples!

There is no reason for it. You don't open your fridge or freezer and experience such cold.

CaptainSweatPants · 17/01/2014 10:44

I prefer it to the shops in town that you swelter in when you go in wearing your coat

ComposHat · 17/01/2014 11:24

Maybe because there's lots and lots of freezers in a confined space being constantly opened and closed?

The clue is in the name.

DustyBaubles · 17/01/2014 11:27

When staff bring out cages of stock to work from, they only have a 20 minute window before the stuff needs to go back to the fridge/freezer.

The stuff on the cage needs to be kept as cold as possible on the shop floor while they work it.

LittleMissGreen · 17/01/2014 11:28

Our Sainsbury's has recently introduced new freezers to reduce this problem (saves them money too I guess).

Fantissue · 17/01/2014 12:36

SPsMrLoverManSHABBA I'm assuming you don't have 20 freezers so maybe that's why your single, small domestic fridge/freezer isn't the same as dozens of large industrial units. Just a thought...

What clue is in what name?

hiddenhome · 17/01/2014 13:06

Just put a bloody cardigan on.

Sheesh, some people will moan about anything Confused

Pigsmummy · 17/01/2014 13:09

I don't feel the cold particulalary but in our local Sainsburys I have been known to put on a winter coat in the summer and rush to a heating vent, sooooo cold! Much more so than other Sainsburys or other supermarkets that I have been to.

SPsMrLoverManSHABBA · 17/01/2014 13:10

I wear a coat shopping and still feel the cold. If people didn't moan then MN would be dead

Same as when you go into a shop and they have their heating up so high that you break out into a sweat the minute you step in

LukeAtMe · 17/01/2014 13:11

Morrisons milk aisle. Brrrrrr! Nice when the weather is hot though!

bloob · 17/01/2014 13:11

YANBU it's bloody freezing! I never linger in those aisles I get in and out ASAP. Surely they would do better not having it quite so cold?!

Mintyy · 17/01/2014 13:11

I'm not MOANING. Sheesh.
