How much of an age gap is too much?

So it isn't really an issue as it is just a crush but do you think a 20ish year age gap is too much?

I am quite old fashioned and the age gap doesn't bother me but I think it is because it is him rather than liking older men in general. He really is lovely - quiet and sensible and you never hear anyone say anything bad about him.

I don't know if the age gap would make him less likely to notice me. Sad

Ooooh you could ask his advice on wine too! Definitely compliment him on something though. Go in near closing time or when he's about to finish his shift!

Smile Going to try at least!

Just terrified beyond belief nervous that I make a fool of myself.

The actual number of years difference is not important in itself, as long as the younger partner is over the age of consent. You don't want Operation Yewtree kicking your door down in the small hours.

What is important is bodily and mental age, because we all become old and tired and decrepit at different times.

A partner who is young-at-heart, healthy and active is unlikely to be entirely happy with a partner who is old-at-heart, not very well and sedentary.

All other things being equal, a partner who is significantly older than you will become 'old' while you are still 'young'.

The biggest difference of all, in practical terms, is of course when one partner is alive and the other is dead.

Hmmm that is something to consider although I have always been old for my age.

I am not overly worried about the whole older partner dying first thing as I could get hit by a bus tomorrow!
