Bought a thermometer yesterday.

It's a peppa pig thermometer.......the only one's the shop had

On the front of the packet it says 'see inside for instructions'

Took it to customer services who said 'it goes in the mouth or armpit

Open it and the inside instructions state it's a rectal thermometer!

I purchased this as everyone is a bit unwell and I don't have a thermometer. Most of us have been fevery so seemed like a good idea at the time

But everyone in the house is over 16, and a bit adverse to sticking it up there bums

I feel cheated

Gwrmany sounds very much like here. Inspection ledges in WCs (but not most of new ones) and painkillers for babies and toddlers seem to be mostly in the form of suppositories.

The thermometer I bought for DS is a rectal one, but not of any cartoon character. I am sure having one with one of DS' favourite cartoon characters might make him be a little less startled than he is now."And now Thomas is going in the tunnel to be really useful","Bob has got a very special tool with him today","Now I wonder what Iggle Piggle keeps under his blanket..."

LEMoncehadacatcalledSANTA · 10/01/2014 16:00

Thank GOD my DD has grown out of peppa pig!

PaulInHolland · 10/01/2014 16:05

It is a bit of the toliet bowl that is above the water. So that it is easy to have a good look at your stools.

AngelaDaviesHair · 10/01/2014 16:05

That's one hot bot, OP.

ExitPursuedByABear · 10/01/2014 16:06

At last! Some fun Grin

All I can think of is Peppa "when going up arseholes you must wear your boots George"

candycoatedwaterdrops · 10/01/2014 16:15

The dog looks horrified when he gets thermometer up his arse at the vet, thus I'll never do that to my children.

JennyOnAPlate · 10/01/2014 16:21

A thermometer that doesn't touch your body? I need to know more!

RoseRedder · 10/01/2014 18:37

*I have a thermometer that doesn't need to touch any part of the body whatsoever! They are the future!

That's what we have, too. Love it!*

Confused what is this witchcraft? A thermometer that doesn't touch any part of you?

Seriously could you provide a link please, I'm interested in getting one

Those thermal imaging cameras show up heat in colour so it'll be something similar only smaller and when pointed at someone, tells you how hot they are.

Marcelinewhyareyousomean · 10/01/2014 18:50

Yikes.

I'm a one (mouth), possibly two (ear) input kind of gal.

RoseRedder · 10/01/2014 19:13

Thanks neiljames77 I've found this one online thermometer.co.uk/519-tn1-infrared-thermometer.html?gclid=CLn-gOGn9LsCFVMdtAodTn8Arw

but the are measuring turtles, earth and planes .....would it work on peoples?

here

Actually £30.00, my bad.

You put it 3 fingers width away from the forehead & scans, shows temp in about 10 seconds. Useful for checking on sleeping babies!

RoseRedder · 10/01/2014 19:30

Thank you KateSpade, I think I'll get one of those.

I'm still a bit scarred emotionally with having peppa pig up my orifices last night

neiljames77 · 10/01/2014 19:37

It says it measures 32.9 to 219.9. I don't think I'd need a thermometer to know that that person is really ILL.

RoseRedder · 10/01/2014 19:42

Grin you'd be dead at 219.9 wouldn't you?

I might get one of those to just so I can measure stuff.

I will point it at buses at stuff

BOFalicious · 10/01/2014 19:42

Wow, that's awesome.

breatheslowly · 10/01/2014 20:55

It also seems to be accurate research here which surprises me as I would have though that skin temperature varied a lot from core temperature.
