to think that 32 is too old to be walking down the street in floods of tears over the injustice in Lady & The Tramp?

Hmm

No, I've not even seen the film for at least 20 years.

No, I don't even like dogs all that much.

Yes, it's the first day of my period.

Confused

Luckily the rain disguised my tears.

Can someone pass me a grip?

Well I cried last time I saw it too Smile

But that was on the sofa not on the street...

Here's a grip - and a hanky!

HeartShapedBox · 07/01/2014 11:55

I watched it with the dcs on Sunday night, floods of tears from me too. dh and dc like this Hmm

stephenisjustcoming · 07/01/2014 12:01

YANBU. sometimes just thinking about 101 Dalmatians (the book) makes me fill up with tears.

Callani · 07/01/2014 12:40

I'm so glad someone else does this too - admittedly I don't do it with Lady & the Tramp but still...

Dollslikeyouandme · 07/01/2014 12:41

But it has a happy ending

treaclesoda · 07/01/2014 12:42

All I'm saying is, don't watch King Kong Sad

CairoPrapstar · 07/01/2014 12:43

I'm 42 and still haven't been able to read black beauty Blush

And on the first day of a period it could be a LOT worse Grin

TalkieToaster · 07/01/2014 12:47

'... He's a tramp... but they love him. Breaks a new heart, everyday.'

candycoatedwaterdrops · 07/01/2014 12:47

I was randomly thinking about when Bambi's mother died and I got a bit choked up the other day. I haven't seen the film for yearssss!

CairoPrapstar · 07/01/2014 12:50

Also I have never seen watership down for this reason

Mim78 · 07/01/2014 12:51

I cried while watching it at home recently. I am pregnant though and everything makes me cry! Cried almost the whole way through Frozen in the cinema recently - luckily dd couldn't see me in the dark!

RudolphtheRedknowsraindear · 07/01/2014 12:52

YABU, but if, on the other hand, you had cried to Mrs Jumbo nursing Baby Dumbo in her trunk & singing, "Baby of Mine," well, that would have been perfectly reasonable!

sparklyskyy · 07/01/2014 12:52

Watership Down scarred me for life. Was a very distressing film. And it's made me really dislike rabbits

snowed · 07/01/2014 12:53

Do you have chocolate in the house? Cup of tea?

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 07/01/2014 12:54

I cried reading stick man to DD2 last night. Some things just get you.

NinjaBunny · 07/01/2014 12:58

Yes, I have a bag of M&Ms and unlimited cups of tea.

I despise Disney films for this reason. They take you to a dark place and mess you up for life.

Putting Dumbo's mum into the 'Mad Elephant' box was possibly the worst thing I've seen.

:(

I actually think Watership Down is a really good film. Have a house-bunny though so I never watch it in case it upsets her.

Blush

And I hate all manner of apes, so didn't find King Kong massively upsetting.

Sad Dumbo is soooooo saaad Rudloph I haven't seen it since I was a child but just thinking about it makes me cry.

Also in the Titanic when the old couple are lying on the bed and the water is rushing around them, the Mum is tucking her children up in bed telling them the land of tir na nog, and when the man says " Don't worry there'll be another boat for the Daddies"

wigglesrock · 07/01/2014 13:02

Stay away from the Fox & the Hound Blush .

Lady & the Tramp & Fox & the Hound are my almost 3 year olds favourites. I had to be bribed with buttons to rewatch the Fox & the Hound!

revivingshower · 07/01/2014 13:10

Oh yes fox and the hound made my dd cry like anything, she will probably cry like the op in years to come thinking of it.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 07/01/2014 13:12

That scene in titanic that notso mentioned above has me howling, didn't stop crying for days when I saw that and now refuse to watch Titanic any more in case I see it by accident.

Animals though, meh. I'm 'ard, me.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 07/01/2014 13:12

The scene with the mum tucking her kids into bed that is.

bigfuckoffpie · 07/01/2014 13:20

This thread has made me look up the ending of All Dogs Go To Heaven as I remembered it being very sad. I just found it on YouTube and now I am in floods!

NinjaBunny · 07/01/2014 13:25

And Boxer being taken away in Animal Farm with his little donkey friend running behind and crying.

Shock

:(

Then we worry about children playing GTA but fail to sensor animal related animated films. We have it all wrong.

I watched Lady &The Tramp when I was on the sofa recovering from an ERPC over the summer. I was told it was a happy film. Lying bastards! Those poor dogs - old age, abandonment, poverty, that poor baby being tortured by rats and cats - bloody hell. It was awful, I couldn't hack it at all.
