putting a baby in the oven??

someone on my local fb selling group has listed a meat roasting dish, pictured in her oven with her BABY laid in it. Obviously the oven is not on! but the baby is a bit twisted to fit and does not look best pleased! Lots of people have called her on this saying it is inappropriate and reported to admin but she says it was just done to show the size of the tin (well unless you actually know the size of the baby, it doesn't really help!)

So just after yr opinion please MNers - is this flippin odd thing to do or perfectly OK??

What a lovely clean oven.

Maybe it was one of those weird dolls?

TaraLott · 06/01/2014 00:24

Medium rare.

Why would anyone design, manufacture, distribute, sell , buy and use a roast turkey costume for a baby? Did anyone think they were funny?

Bettercallsaul1 · 06/01/2014 10:53

Well, I don't know! We''ve just had a thread; AIBU to want to eat my baby? in which 62 posters unanimously said. they'd love to!

One specifically mentions the idea of coating her baby in olive oil and covering with foil while father puts on the oven! No-one blinked an eyelid, so it can be funny in the right context!

tis a bit weird.

On the other hand on the farm we put newborn lambs in the bottom oven of the Aga to warm them up (obviously with door open...).

Primafacie · 06/01/2014 12:01

My great aunt was born prematurely and was also put in the bottom oven - basically a makeshift incubator. She lived to nearly 100.

Some white knuckle pearl clutching going on here!

Sorry but so what? Report to social services? Distressing for someone who's been in a fire? Honestly I don't know how some of you cope with normal life.

fortydoors & primafacie

I'm the OP, that is the exact photo in your links, so it looks like the "seller" was not genuine anyway, it was not her photo of her baby in her dish for sale. Her idea of a joke no doubt. Ah well, I wasn't getting me knickers in a twist I just thought it was a very odd thing to do.
