Anyone else sad that the holidays are nearly over?

In no way being smug or trying to annoy anyone who's struggling (got flamed a bit before).

But I really am having such a nice time and don't want it to end.

We haven't done anything special, but so nice just to see family and friends, no rush for anything, lazy mornings, no work, no making packed lunches.

We've just been sat on the floor on a big blanket, eating fish finger sandwiches and biscuits watching tv.

Jan and Feb are just a bit rubbish too, roll on clocks going forward now.

Yes I'm sad. Not looking forward to the mad rush in the mornings and lunch box duty. The kids have been getting on well these holidays which makes a nice change. And sad to say goodbye to my lovely bil and sil who are returning to oz. We won't see them again for a few years.

I see what you are saying there mrsdevere, it's not that people don't want others to enjoy their school holidays, but that they don't want to be made to feel bad if they're relieved it's over.

I am sad too. We have had a lovely chilled time with a week back in the UK to see friends and family - though we rented a house so we could have some time/space to ourselves. Grin Lots of wine and food and panto and TV and no alarm clocks. I had to go in for a half day today and full day tomorrow after a couple of days back home where dd didn't even get out of pjs Blush. She has one day of holiday club tomorrow then thankfully it is the weekend!

And blimey - this thread has reminded me I need to make dd a packed lunch for tomorrow!

Last night I was so sad at the thought of DH going back to work today. He's had 2 weeks off for the first time in years and it's been wonderful all being off together for an extended perio. And I'm someone who usually struggles with school holidays for one reason and another.

But when he actually left the house it felt good that things were returning to normal. I guess the only reason we enjoy this limbo period is because it isn't going to last!

I'm thrilled, everyone has buggered off at last and I can put my feet up and finish off the chocs with 'Sherlock' in perfect peace. Smile

It was great apart from my parents being unreasonable until DH went back to work this morning. By 10am DS1 had smacked DS2 in the mouth and was complaining bitterly that he'd hurt his finger on DS2's teeth. DS2 was bawling and bleeding from a fat lip. By half ten DS2 had drawn all over the carpet with crayon. Roll on Monday!
