I am in London. Lying in bed and it really feels like the house is going to get blown away. It seems to be getting worse.

I am so scared of the wind- always have been. Sitting here waiting in it to calm down so I might get to sleep. I don't know why it unsettles me so much but it really does.

West London here and yes I also find it rather alarming. I imagine not much of my crappy garden fence will be left, bloody piece of plop that it is.

If you want really scary rain/wind, though, try Asia during rainy season. It's a bit like that bit in Forest Gump - I'd never seen sideways and rain-from-the-ground before!

My sister lived in Japan for a number of years and HATED the storms. Probably something to do with the fact that her front door was once blown in at 2am. The frame had completely buckled!

It's really picked up here in the north west in the last hour, I hate the wind.

I got woken up at 2.30am by the wind really howling. Normally it doesn't bother me but this was scary, I thought the house might take off. In West Yorkshire.

Managed about half an hours sleep since then.

I haven't slept a wink. Which is really awesome considering how much I have to do today Hmm I was terrified the chimney was going to come down on me. A quick peek at the back garden shows that half my fence is actually missing, no idea where the panels may be. I'm dreading having to check the roof for missing tiles too, I think I may have lost quite a few. Dc happily slept right through the whole thing. Am praying for an hours snooze before they wake up

High winds always freak me out. I love a good thunderstorm, but wind is so scary when it gets really high, and the house is rattling and the trees are bending way over. Where I live we have the potential for tornadoes from spring until fall; those are really scary.

YANBU... was driving about getting the turkey about 5.30pm yesterday and kept worrying a tree limb might drop on me. Fortunately I was beyond exhausted so did manage to sleep, but not in the north where I believe it's worse.

"...bloody piece of plop that it is." Xmas Grin

South London here - I barely slept at all as I was worried the marquee would take off. We have lost quite a few tiles from the roof and all of the windows from our shed. Hmm

SE London here too. I am exhausted!!! Lost four fence panels and our neighbours lost some too. Heard a loud smash in the night but not sure what it was.
