to wonder who, apart from shooting enthusiasts and alcoholics, needs a hipflask?

Saw a lovely engraved one in House of Fraser. Considered buying it for a family member and then thought about it a bit... Leaving aside the fact that they can look lovely, who would actually use one? Our attitude towards booze has changed so much that if anyone I know actually took a snifter from a hipflask in real life these days I would assume they had a serious drink problem. And would probably be right. Just that back in the day people didn't turn a blind eye to it....

Me - essential when I was an archaeology student! Made 12 weeks of digging in Oreland much more bearable. I also take to weddings where the bars are overpriced.

Anyone who enjoys watching sports. My dh has one, and watched rugby in all weathers with his hip flask. He loves it, reckons that's the best present I ever bought him.

Dh always has one in his sporran at weddings and offers it round to put whiskey in everyone's coffee. Makes drinks taste all tinny though.

Hipsters?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 23/12/2013 19:10

They are for dry weddings, of course!

A nice full skirt and a hipflask.

In reality I assume it's just because they look pretty.

Great for days at the races in winter, at equestrian events, and other country sports. I love mine with port in.. Warms the cockles

catgirl1976 · 23/12/2013 19:28

Good to take to the races etc

Or, if you are skint, at weddings etc with expensive bars ;)

DS1 has asked for one for Christmas after his last one sprung a leak.

He's a student and an Aldi spirits fan. Smile

jonicomelately · 23/12/2013 19:34

I've got DP one for Christmas. It's being engraved so I'll pick it up tomorrow. No doubt he'll take it to the rugby and football.

Me, when we go to centerparcs Grin

MillyStar · 23/12/2013 19:46

Students are silly taking them clubbing full of vodka, I find fruit shoot bottles work much better Grin

DalekInAFestiveJumper · 23/12/2013 19:48

I have one. It was a thank you gift from parents after we did a musical with thirty-six children under twelve.

Sadly, we have a strict no alcohol at work policy, or I could probably get more use out of it.

BananaNotPeelingWell · 23/12/2013 19:50

I could've done with one today in the supermarket.

quesadilla · 23/12/2013 19:55

Loving this tippling while you ramble theme. When we did it you always had to wait for the pub to start boozing. It's all becoming clear.
