I bought a selection of wrapping paper for Christmas. Some snowman / Santa kid's stuff and others with my grown up designs. He's now gone and wrapped nice bottles of wine for relatives in kid's paper and all we have left for my toddler's pressies is green and gold Christmas bauble paper after I specifically asked him to do vice versa.
He thinks IABU and sweating the small stuff as 'Christmas wrapping paper is Christmas wrapping paper...?!'
He has previous.. A couple of years ago he gave his adult brother a glittery butterfly bday card from the generic greetings card stash I keep at home and couldn't understand why I found this strange!
Grrrrr!

I don't think you're BU but as it's done I wouldn't worry about it (unless you have judgy in-laws like me who would make it a HUGE deal).

Presumably you've either learnt your lesson to buy generic paper for year round or wrap them yourself. Men simply don't care :P

Joysmum · 23/12/2013 15:47

If something is that important, do it yourself or quit moaning.

BackforGood · 23/12/2013 15:51

YABY.
Am STAGGERED the things people worry about. Really I am.

Idespair we actually leave all the paper out on Christmas eve for Father Christmas to use! Dd noticed one year that his paper was the same as ours so I explained that he often needs extra so we're thoughtful enough to leave it out!¬

Oh my. Seriously???

DP used up all my cool fun paper the other day. I luckily had some brown parcel paper and had a great time decorating it with my lovely festive stamps - it actually looks quite good.

I don't really care about things like this - to be honest I also wouldn't care if my Christmas present came in a recycled Happy Birthday bag - does it really matter?

Mishmashofstyles · 23/12/2013 16:01

I have paper A for one child, another paper, B, for the other child, and paper C for me DH and everyone else, so the kids think Santa brought theirs, in their special paper.

DH has used some of DD's paper to wrap my present from the DC.

I have mild christmas anger over this.

AwfulMaureen · 23/12/2013 18:01

Don't you like a nice bright mixture mishmash? That's what tags are for!

brettgirl2 · 23/12/2013 18:21

It has never, ever occurred to me to use different paper for children and adults. yabu

ShinyBauble · 23/12/2013 19:14

It's the other way in my household. Cheap market stall paper for the adults, swanky Paperchase stuff for the DS. He notices these things.

phantomnamechanger · 23/12/2013 19:33

We definitely have kids and adults paper here, and separate paper for santa. I feel your stress OP, DH did wrap one gift in the wrong paper the other night. he soon rewrapped it. we don't do labels from santa on the DCs gifts as they know our writing, they all just go in named sacks - but so we know which is which once wrapped, we put a small initial on one end of each parcel....well that's what we are supposed to do - DH for some reason did one initial right in the middle of the gift on a piece of white snowman where it sticks out like a sore thumb! twit.

WitchWay · 23/12/2013 19:42

This would irritate me too! Last year husband ignored the Christmas paper & used blue & pink birthday paper for my presents Hmm

RhondaJean · 23/12/2013 21:36

I use a different paper per child as well. It means I don't need to gift tag everything. Dd1 will have say red paper and dd2 blue and they know everything with that colour of paper is for them.

I think it's a genius idea, I'd rather do that than write a millionty gift tags.
