MIne was about someone who had gone to a party and found some woman was trying to sell her saucepans for about £300 EACH.

I don't think she bought any.

OP posts:

Mine was probably some breastfeeding angst while sobbing

Poshnosh · 20/12/2013 14:50

Mine was years ago, a very sad thread about a lady who wasn't coping very well. I was amazed at the support she was getting and instantly loved MN. Turned out she was a troll :(

ErrolTheDragon · 20/12/2013 14:50

Mine would have been about bedwetting - probably a zombie thread, I came on here to look for info and searched for the subject.

This was a long time ago under a different name!

Who knows-slept a lot since then...

SourSweets · 20/12/2013 14:53

Something pregnancy related as every google search led me here. I didn't post for ages though and now I'm starting a thread practically every day Blush

Peppermintlover · 20/12/2013 14:53

It was a thread slagging off nethuns, I clicked in link to it from a thread in nethuns, that was about 18 months ago and I am yet to return to the land of the tickers!

furlinedsheepskinjacket · 20/12/2013 14:55

when a v well known poster was having dave round for tea

OrganixAddict · 20/12/2013 14:57

An AIBU about a sister who wanted parents to downsize so she could have her "share" of the inheritance now to upsize in zone 2 (zone 3 being unthinkable). Was both astonished and completely sucked in to MN.

AMumInScotland · 20/12/2013 15:15

It must have been about Home Education, because I was Googling that when I ended up on threads here (when finding a decent school for DS was turning out to be a difficult task). I lurked on Education topics for a while before dipping my toes in any deeper, only registering to answer a post about an issue with the Scottish education system. Hence my nickname...

MrsMook · 20/12/2013 15:20

I was 39wks pg and very bored earlier this year and ventured in on a whim. There was a thread about gender reveal parties. I've stuck around.

nemno · 20/12/2013 15:22

A Property thread. I followed a link from another property site that was mocking mumsnetters for being unrealistic about the price of houses they were trying to sell at. But I thought quite a lot of the posters seemed quite reasonable and so snooped around the site.

But I'm not sure really that it was a good move. I've certainly learned a lot on MN but I find a lot of it depressing. I used to be quite optimistic and cheery.

The funniest bits of childbirth in Classics! Hysterical! Grin Grin Blush

ChanelTunel · 20/12/2013 15:35

One of the first posts I read was about someone who'd got the runs at Waterloo station. She was stuck in the loo with soiled trousers. A kind mumsnetter was on her way with a change of clothes, until it was revealed to be a troll Hmm

BrightSunshineyDay · 20/12/2013 15:41

The nanny pastagate thread. Been hooked ever since Grin

Joysmum · 20/12/2013 15:41

I'm very new to mumsnet and ventured in when a friend if my suggested a google search to find the infamous penis beaker thread.

I loved the mix of people replying, from the serious and judgemental to those who (like me) found the whole thing hilarious. So I stayed. I love a laugh.

HoHoHopasholic · 20/12/2013 15:43

OP had discovered her DH was having an affair. She donned a wig and Deidre Barlow glasses and went to the hotel reception where they were due to meet and hid behind a plant to catch them in the act! It was bizarre!everyone was telling her not to humiliate herself.cant remember the outcome or if it was a troll.

AscoyneDAscoyne · 20/12/2013 15:43

It was a p&c parking bunfight thread, I was horrified by the way posters spoke to each other but I've got used to the "lively debate" now Grin

HaroldTheGoat · 20/12/2013 15:44

A totally insane thread about an IVF baby which the OP thought might have been made with the wrong sperm due to him looking like a different nationality which ended in loads of insane arguments and a picture if a house that looked like hitler.

Of course I came back for more after that one. Grin

SauceForTheGander · 20/12/2013 15:44

The first one I remember was by a poster called TenaLady who was dismayed at her Stepson's haircut and thought it embarrassing. Needless to say it properly kicked off. I read the whole thing like this Shock as could not believe people would take the piss out of someone so much and everyone was so funny.

I'm now "whatevs" after a few years of lurking on AIBU.

EmpressOfTheWellOfLostPlots · 20/12/2013 15:45

The OP had been eating biscuits on a bus and a toddler threw a tantrum because he wanted one. His mum looked expectantly at the OP, who said no.

jeanmiguelfangio · 20/12/2013 15:54

Painting the pigeon- been hooked ever since
"Is that you Dave?"

PrivateBenjamin · 20/12/2013 16:09

A Valentines day thread where the OP hadn't had sex with her husband since October and was asking for help to make it not seem awkward. The suggestions and cheerleading were hilarious.

I also remember the £3000 pan thread from my early days where the magical pans made bicarb water taste slightly better than it does normally. I loved that thread.

Goodadvice1980 · 20/12/2013 16:12

Mine was a thread about a woman who was taking a break up badly (think the poster was called Desolute??).

She really couldn't see how badly her clingy behaviour was becoming; don't think she was a troll.
