MIne was about someone who had gone to a party and found some woman was trying to sell her saucepans for about £300 EACH.

I don't think she bought any.

I think mine was a thread in AIBU by a now banned poster about how she thought her neighbour with either 7 or 8 children by a few different men from different ethnicities 'took the biscuit'. she was roasted, like she always was.

Oh no thats wrong! It was a thread by someone asking CMers what all their mindees were doing while they were on MN. I suspect it might have been who you would imagine it to be but could be wrong. It was a rowdy one too! Grin

A mum was asking if her DH was unreasonable in not wanting their (10-12 y.o.) son to fold her laundry inc. her underwear, bras etc as part of his chores.

I was 13 and it made me laugh and also made me see my dad differently, as he would never be that uptight!

The April 2010 bus in ttc was the first I read and the first I posted on. Blimey that feels along time ago, June/July 2009 ish

In the autumn term of 2005 the head teacher asked me to find out for her what other schools did about parking problems for a governors' meeting. I googled and found this thread by someone who'd double parked outside her DD's school and had a row with the head about it. It developed into a bit of a bun fight, especially after someone else popped up to say that she always parked over dropped kerbs, and I was fascinated. I didn't actually register and start posting until a few months later, but I was hooked from the start...

at having sucked someone into MN with my gluezilla escapades! Xmas Grin

The first thread I remember reading was one about someone who wanted to sue a DIY place because her child hadn't been looking where they were going and walked into a plastic leaflet holder, or something like that. It got a bit silly. I was pregnant with DD at the time, so was probably about three years ago now.

Early 2012 baby bus in antenatal. Found MN after googling. Have lurked and occasionally posted under a variety of names since then! Bloody love MN, I do. Grin

The cubes of poo thread in classics, linked to on Facebook by a friend who is a prolific MNer. Hilarious...that's what made me join the site.

RedlipsAndSlippers · 21/12/2013 06:57

I can't remember what the thread was about, but I remember thinking 'oh get a fucking grip', and when I realised that's exactly what the responses where too I decided to stick around a bit.
Love MN now, especially the October ante-natal group :)

In Relationships a long running thread about Dumplings - those who have been dumped or ditched and are on the road to recovery. That thread was a life saver and led me onto to sussing out my XH and meeting a very lovely friend who I see regularly.

GinAndIt · 21/12/2013 08:32

I think the first thread I read would've been something about how to get a tiny baby to sleep for more than 15 mins at a time [roll]

The first one I remember getting involved in and hooked by was the 'support for spook' thread (actually I think there ended up being several of them).

happystory · 21/12/2013 08:53

A long running thread where the op had lost her husband in the Twin Towers, she had two daughters. I believe she eventually found love again...
