Annoyed with what dp has bought me

Just seen in a carrier bag (wasn't hidden) that dp has bought me another Pandora charm thing for Christmas I guess.

I've got a whole bracelet full as he's bought a charm for every birthday and Christmas for a while. I stopped wearing it when ds was born as it kept clipping him when I would hold him.

He knows I don't wear it and that its full. I really think its a bit of a cop out gift as he couldn't be bothered to think of something different. I actually told him I would like a little antique necklace from a specific shop the other day.

I'm an ungrateful twunt, aren't I

I dont understand adults asking one another presents for Christmas TBH Why not?

somethingchristmassy · 17/12/2013 16:22

we haven't been able to give each other presents for the past six years or so. I'd be delighted with a pandora charm. The poor guy probably thinks he's got something really lovely, perhaps he's spent time choosing it and thinks it's meaningful?

LoreleisSecret · 17/12/2013 16:42

I have the same problem except I do actually wear mine. It's completely full to the brim and I'm not the sort to rearrange charms constantly.
I thought that would be the end of the pandora charms (that took less than 10 months to fill) and what do I receive for our anniversary....

....another bracelet (exactly the same) with a mum charm from the kids. So now I have 2. That I have to wear!

Not meaning to be ungrateful, I do like them but, it's just boring now!

redshifter · 17/12/2013 17:00

What have you got him for christmas?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/12/2013 17:03

YANBU OP.

It is disappointing when someone just picks the easy option rather than put any thought into what you might like.

Creamycoolerwithcream · 17/12/2013 17:10

I'm impressed your DH has already brought you something. Mine goes to the shop nearest to his work the day before Christmas eve and panic buys. I call House of Fraiser the House of Shite now.

Justforlaughs · 17/12/2013 17:12

Ah, but maybe he's hidden something completely different inside a Pandora box to put you off the scent! [hopeful emoticon] He may have let you catch a glimpse deliberately! [knowing wink]
-or not! Grin
He may actually have found a charm that he felt was "just right" for this year, for some reason. Either take a peek (and risk spoiling a surprise) or wait and see. You can always say that your bracelet is full and would he mind if you changed it for something else after Christmas, if it comes to it.

MelanieCheeks · 17/12/2013 21:58

She's already peeked, and complained it was silver and plastic tat, not even a sniff of gold!

I'm sorry, I just hear this in the voice of that whiney "Ashley! Hands!" precious and princessy fast show character.

It's the thought that counts- cliche I know. Is this his idea of thoughtful? It's clearly not yours, but what have you hinted at instead? Or is he deliberately setting out to buy you something that you won't value?
