Yes I am raiding the xmas chocolate stash but am disappointed that my orange (and the other one too) was all loose and segmenty.

surely the fun is the tap and unwrap and the tastiest bit is the core strip?

Damn you Terrys!

Plain choc oranges 2for £3 in Sainsburgers...

Crowler · 14/12/2013 08:06

I don't understand the chocolate orange. Not even a little bit. They were never meant to go together.

YABU.

UrethraFranklin · 14/12/2013 08:11

This thread made me have a dream about opening a segmented chocolate orange...more of a nightmare really Sad

thefuturesnotourstosee · 14/12/2013 09:17

I like the dark one too.

DD likes the white one.

DP prefers milk chocolate.

We have one each at Christmas and there are no arguments as its clear whos is whos

DS is 16 months. I think I'll buy him a dark chocolate one as I'm sure he'll love it and it will certainly get eaten

hercules1 · 14/12/2013 09:25

Sexykitten - what kind of freak is your dh? Who eats one like an apple? (Shock)

Writerwannabe83 · 14/12/2013 11:13

I blame the mumsnetters who punch cakes...

TribbleWithoutATardis · 14/12/2013 12:46

YASNBU!!! This country has gone to the dogs if this is the new state of things!

How will our children ever forgive us!

kennyp · 14/12/2013 12:49

my son would go absolutely LOOPY if his was pre-tapped. i am shorrified (that's a peter andre based thingy of shocked and horrified).

i like the core bit of a C.O. as that is like a long chocolatey orangey finger thingy.

YADDDDDDDDDDDDNBU. leave the bastard (he who's called Terry's).

misskatamari · 14/12/2013 14:53

They are the yummiest chocolate. Morrisons had them for 99p a few months ago and I bought 8 of them! I have hidden them in the basement and I think I may have two left. But not for long!!!

hercules1 · 14/12/2013 15:45

I bought two today because of this thread.

gimcrack · 14/12/2013 17:07

I wouldn't mind it being pretapped. But if anyone ate the core I would go batshit.

mrspremise · 14/12/2013 17:19

runs off to eat a chocolate orange 'like an apple' Grin

Sexykitten2005 · 14/12/2013 17:38

Hercules thank you! He couldn't understand why I was looking at him funny. He actually didnt know what I meant when I said you have to tap it! Cue gentle tap with one finger on the side....

getmeoutofthismadhouse · 14/12/2013 17:45

I bought 1 from wilkinson this week (they have them for £1 ) and it came apart in segments without whacking :((

GoldenGytha · 14/12/2013 17:55

Not a fan of orange chocolate here either, but all this bashing reminded me of the time years ago when DD1 had a very hard to crack Easter Egg,

No amount of bashing worked, and I bashed it on the melamine plate, the plate broke, but the egg remained intact Grin

Think we took a hammer to it eventually.

LilyTheSavage · 14/12/2013 18:08

On the other hand (and I know I'm running the risk of being labelled a rebel and greedy to boot) if they're untapped it's actually much easier to open the box privately, sneak a crafty segment and then re-wrap for the person it's actually intended for. Seems reasonable to me!
Xmas Wink

Mumonabroom · 14/12/2013 21:01

Rosa and raisah - thanks! You may just have saved Christmas in the broom household. I've been dreaming of chocolate oranges all day (unlike DH I like the milk ones).

caramelwaffle · 15/12/2013 19:37

getme

That's unacceptable.

Take the empty wrapper and box back, ask for a refund, and complain in writing to Head office.

UniS · 15/12/2013 20:42

ummmm choc oranges. maybe I should go an dsee if I have some stashed in the present box? or maybe I should just buy another one and THEN look in the present box and if I find one there as well I can eat that one before christmas.

snowed · 15/12/2013 21:02

YANBU. So why is the middle the best bit? I totally agree, but it's made of just the same chocolate isn't it?

caramelwaffle · 15/12/2013 21:09

snowed It is made of chocolate, orange, Zeus's sweat and Odin's tears; literally the stuff of gods.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 15/12/2013 21:13

You need to send the manufacturers a picture of you holding up your pre-tapped chocolate orange, and doing Daily Mail sadface.

missmatched · 15/12/2013 21:51

l have a bump on my head from a t.c.o and my 18 month old ds, maybe l need to eat it now as its been tapped and l wouldn't want to upset the recipient.....hmmm
