...to think dog owners who don't pick up after their pets should be shot

For the second time in as many days DD has trodden in dog shit on the walk home. Some of the pavements on our route are very badly lit and covered in leaves so you can't see in front of you very well. Avoiding big piles of dog shit is a lottery.

Ive just spent the last 15 mins trying to scrub shit out of the grooves of the soles of her shoes and yet again the smell of dog shit is burned into my nostrils.

There are no dog wardens here and no prospect of getting any. AIBU to want to hunt down these fucking lazy dog owners and shoot them dead after first rubbing their noses in their dog's shite.

Very very Angry.

I have 2 dogs but they don't like leaving the house most of the time but when we do I always pick up after them. Would love to see all the dogs in doggy nappies though Wink my dogs wouldn't even go out for a poop if I did that. Laziest dogs in the world they are.
Hate all the dog crap everywhere. I've just got back from dropping kids off at school and it's been walked right outside my house so I've had to dodge it and in a minute I'll have to get a bucket of water and broom to clean it up or my kids will walk it into the house Sad

Oh dear, I turn my back and it becomes a cat poo thread Grin.

See, I have a cat. Who only goes out to poo among my roses. Angry Maybe it's karma? Cat owners being punished by treading in dog poo? Wink

Did the return walk to nursery this morning and tried to remember where all the piles of poo are on the route so we can avoid them tonight when its dark. Problem is there's so much poo I know I'll forget.

Times like this I wish a had a big 4x4 like everyone else round here so I could avoid poo altogether.

The latest fashion is to put the dog poo in a blue bag and leave the bag wherever it takes your fancy. One idiot did this and now everyone else is copying. Our street is littered with dog shit bags. Who do they think is going to pick it up?

Why is this a particularly bad time of year. Do dogs shit more in the winter or there is a rule in the dog owners guide book that says that you don't have to bother picking it up if you are a bit chilly?

dreamingofsun · 13/12/2013 09:57

theartic - would have thought its the opposite, dogs poo is nice and warm!!

YANBU. Some filthy bastard has started letting their dog shit in the middle of the pavement on our street. 4 times in the last 10 days along a stretch of road no more than 10 terraced houses long. Gives me the absolute rage.

JollySantersSelectionBox · 13/12/2013 10:38

Thearctic it reminds me of a place we used to live by, in the UK. A big playing field surrounded by trees. Someone used to take joy in hanging the dog shit bags from the low hanging branches of one of the trees.

Very pleasant in a strong wind. Hmm

ChameleonCircuit that was brave! Well done... Smear it on the dog though? It's not the dog's fault!Lol

A dog warden once accused me of not picking up , when my dog hadn't actually pooed! She did squat down as they do, but she hadn't been well and was struggling to go. I watched her, nothing came out and then I inspected the area and he came chasing after me with a bag telling me to pick up. I told him she hadn't done anything and went to the area with him and he looked all over it with me, then wandered off ,scoffing . Good that he was thorough though I guess-but he could have missed somebody else who actually wasn't picking up!

The folk who hang the bags on things... That annoys me even more than not picking up at all I think... BUT,where I walk my dog, It's about a 2 mile stretch and there's ONE bin. One. about a quarter of the way around. I think folk get fed up of carrying it :/

I run as well (ever tried running with a bag full of poo?) lol luckily I've trained my D.O.G to poo before that bin lol

Another thing-there's a bin near me and also near a kid's playing area. At least a couple of times a month I pass it in the morning to find that SOMEONE (I assume kids!) has raided it, taken the bags of poo out and chucked them all over (maybe at each other?) so there's loads of split-open poo bags lying around. Gross.

I have a sweet dog and I don't like others teasing my dog. After it poo, I used to clean up with a poop scoop which bought from Auggiedog. It's easy to handle and use. Why can't others also clean like this....Why do they make irritating others...Angry

I think shooting them is a bit extreme! But yes, always always pick up dog shit. It takes 20 seconds.
